Here's a Florida boy who's planning on moving up to northern Indiana in about 6 months. I've never driven in snow with any car let alone a Prius. I'm going to be in need of some new tires by then, but don't have a place to store a second set of winter tires. I've been looking at all weather tires good for snow and it looks like the Goodyear Assurance Wetherready is really good especially because of it's three peak mountain snowflake rating, but wanted to get your opinions. I have the factory 15" rims, so the Michelin Cross Climate 2s won't work (as they only make those for 16" rims or bigger). I have a 2012 with 215k mi. on it, so not looking for anything too crazy expensive either.
I seem to recall Cross Climate were available in 195/65R15; double check? Nokian’s got all-weather options. Availability scarce in States? Kal Tire sells them up here, Nordman as well, which seems to be budget Nokians.
I looked and was able to find that the older Cross Climate +s we're available in the 15 in. size, but the not the newer Cross Climate 2s. Its seems hard to get the Cross Climate+s where I'm at, as they are older. I don't know why they can't make the Cross Climate 2s in a 15 in. rim.
