Ordinary PIDs for live data are read using OBD-II Mode 1. Monitor results like for the EGR flow test are read using Mode 6.

I don't know specifically whether Torque Pro has features for reading Mode 6 data, but if it does, you probably have some other way to set them up, not exactly the same as Mode 1 PIDs.

It has. I don't recall where from top of my head now because I'm using Car Scanner app but for sure is not a custom PID.

Thanks. Is it from Car Scanner or Torque pro?

I wonder if the version sold in Bangladesh lacks that support.

Japanese Prius don't have that 06 mode. :(
You are the second one on this forum that I know with this problem.

Other Prius Alpha users can varify it.

Little follow-up. When I replaced my EGR valve and cooler a year ago at around 155k miles, the monitor result went from 10 point something kPa up to 21 point something.

But it took me this long to get around to opening the old EGR valve, and lo and behold, it revealed mashed ski-jump syndrome (though not as bad as ozmatt's, which was causing a P0401 code).

So this seems to be something to check on any used EGR valve. And my before-cleaning 10 point something kPa result was not only due to clogging of passages. It was some combination of the passage clogging and the misindexing of the valve.

Frustratingly, the valve was in pretty fine condition, otherwise.

And just to review this thread,, Can this function be done with Torque app?
    Or does it need techstream?

I like getting technical and not digging into the EGR system cleaning if it's not required.

    Thanks for any guidance!

Is there a way to get an independent shop to run this quick test , and not try to get a dealership to run it?

I believe post #58 in this thread showed the value being retrieved with Torque.

"Mode 6" emission monitor results are a standard OBD-II feature. You can see examples in this thread of many different OBD readers being able to retrieve them. If whatever tool you are using says it can retrieve Mode 6 results, you should be good to go.

Yeah, that's why, based on decent flow test result, I'm procrastinating digging into the EGR cooler. However, even if your flow test result is ok, "digging into the EGR system" as far as the EGR ports of the intake manifold might still be prudent. If the passage to one or two cylinders is clogged, they'll receive no EGR and the others will receive too much. The overall flow test won't reveal that imbalance. Fortunately, the manifold is easier to get off than the cooler is.

Dang it,,,, you are so right!
I guess I need to do this work sometime in the future.
I'll probably do it all at once when I go for it.

So what are your thoughts on the original intake manifold vs the new design?
Is it worth buying the newer one?

But then,,, I'll be P'd if at 220k miles I need to replace the head gasket because it's just a P'Poor design of the block/head/gasket.

And this whole "You must keep your EGR System clean" is all just a myth.
The silence from the company must say something.....

Exactly, that is why I have done intake manifold cleaning and while at it I have also replaced the PCV valve and cleaned the throttle body. I was very surprised that my car at 90.000 miles was very clean and also there was no oil under the throttle body, so it should be in great shape.

Mine is a 2011 with 160K, and recently cleaned the intake manifold, EGR Valve, pipe and EGR radiator.

When using the car scanner app on an android under what conditions is this test done? Car turned on idling? While driving? I keep running this test but get no values.

Not critical. I do it in "ON" mode (not accessory mode as I said here earlier), i.e., car parked and not "READY."
