Yep, I keep checking tracking hoping it will bump up. Doubtful, but it'd sure be nice to beat the weather.
It’s been a decade since I seen this! If you are an OG member of PC you know what I am looking at iPhone ?
My dad's friend made and sold them. He was not enamoured with thee thin Tanabe fragile bar that hanged down too much and was easily destroyed.
He made and sold what he called the "box beam" center brace too. Toyota adopted his design without crediting him for the Gen 4 braces in 2016.
Here's mine, along with the cat shields reinforced with stainless steel mesh. Mid brace is very early version. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I purchased my 2012 Prius v just three months after my husband's dad' and my dad's friend purchased his when it first came out. Just right after, I noticed how it would make a "clunking" sound each time it ran over the shallow drainage trough when the front suspension went over it. It appeared that the front suspension was a lot more flexible than I wanted it to be. On that account, I installed the then expensive over $250 Cusco strut brace that took 5 hours of time to put in. Happily, that eliminated the "clunk." Our friend instead went with the Tanabe Sustec brace and found it hung down too much and not really durable. It did eliminate the "clunk" when he drove his Prius v over the same place om our driveway. On that account, he developed the solid billet aluminum front brace. If I knew that I could get the same result for about $100 and install it in 10 minutes, I would not have bothered with the Susco strut brace. Lesson learned.
