<AHEM> I'm pretty sure GM used them for engineering the long gone Volt and current Bolt.

The Bolt was done with LG Chem. They supplied the battery, and most of the electric drive train components.

LG supplied the battery for the Volt, but an LFP from Compact Power was also considered. The hybrid system was all GM. Its history can be traced back to an EV1 hybrid concept. TIL the Volt had a dual motor mode before the Prius Prime.

nevertheless, they make some pretty nice bev's which fit a lot of lifestyles and driving parameters, at 'reasonable' prices

especially used. Picking up the last production year (2019) for $25K with 18k miles - prior to deflated dollar debacle - lifetime of 82.2mpg even after multiple 80mph cannonball runs / SoCal to Nashville & SoCal to Montana .... now has 52K miles of which only ~20% are not electric.

Plus - getting to re-charge at 7.2kw? more is better.

There was a ‘bow tie’ car that ICEd the free ChargePoint at Whole Foods this morning. So I hung my late wife’s handicap dangle and stretched the J1772 cable off the deck … a barrier.

When I returned the ICE car had been replaced by a nice Bolt. But I’m loath to touch someone else’s car even to do a favor.

Yea - at least when Teslas stay too long at the overcrowded superchargers - there's some satisfaction knowing they are paying top dollar to be squatters. Still - it would be nice if people would be more considerate
