2017 prius c two with 35k on it does anyone know what might be causing a loud drone sound? it literally sounds like I put a cherry bomb on this thing and it's droning like crazy. it does it real bad around 48-50mph and when accelerating to highway speeds. also when slowing down from higher speeds its pretty loud. would the recent cold weather have something to do with it? I bought the car in August and it had the drone then too but it was not this loud or often as it is now. it kind of started after I put a lift kit on the car but that makes no sense?? no codes and didn't see anything broken or weird going on with the exhaust system. the sound is definitely coming from the rear though
If your catalytic converter is still there and no exhaust leaks then rear wheel bearing is possible, but not enough miles on the car for that. Maybe some loose underbody panels?
cat is still there. no leaks from what I can tell everything looks just fine. I don't see anything loose at all. to me it doesn't sound like a wheel bearing at all
