Gps suddenly doesn’t know its location. Home is now 12 miles away. Anyone know of a fix?

Radio and Satellite / SiriusXM working normally so probably not antenna?

Don’t use GPS much since we have cellphone GPs but nice to have as a backup.

    Please advise.
    Thanks!

    Gps has a separate antenna

    Has the GPS antenna failed?
    Anyone had this issue?
    Where is the GPS antenna?

It is under the dash, passenger side if I remember correctly. @gromittoo is the resident expert on the mfd.

If displayed GPS location changes as you drive, but is wrong, it is the system logic or the satellite ephemeris reads/captures that are erroneous.

Yes, gps updates while driving and instructs you to turn on streets that don’t exist in the area I’m driving.
Any fix for this or is the GPS circuit in the head unit “dead”?
Would a system reset do anything?

If the gps antenna is weak it may not be capturing multiple satellites which degrades its accuracy.
    @gromittoo ?

If there are streets the nav system doesn’t know about, it means they are newer than the nav database. Nothing the GPS can do to map streets it doesn’t know exist.

Just to clarify, GPS thinks Home is about 20 miles away from where my actual Home is. No matter where I am, gps mostly routes me to n entered destination starting at my “Home”. Tells me to turn here and there on actual streets but they are nowhere near where I currently am. Seems to call out commands at random. Pretty weird

Then it is a system logic or satellite ephemeris issue.

Knowing nothing of the specifics, can you unpower and reset the system, force it to rebuild the ephemeris file?

I have no idea. No issues with our 2012 v Five GPS nav, though it will not lock onto Sirius XM satellites.

GPS antenna is usually near/in front of the radio underneath the dashboard. See this manual pg 26 (Moderators this is a link to a Toyota Owners website manual if you need to please approve) also pg 46:

    https://assets.sia.toyota.com/publications/en/omnav-s/OM33A02U-00/pdf/OM33A02U-00.pdf

"Location & GPS Information" button, see that it acquires at least 3 satellites, (for triangulation).

On pg 64 there is a "Settings" tab on the top but the manual doesn't appear to explain it. Please check there for possible calibration...

Not on the non-ATP, but this looks very interesting.

So I pulled 2 fuses associated with the nav system according to the owners manual. Unfortunately, no effect. Any other suggestions?
