HID to LED comparison

Beamtech S1 series or newer.

 

Is that for Halogen or HID?

 

I don't think beam tech makes HID I don't don't hold me to that but I think they're an LED manufacturer only but yes this is for their top of the line S1 LEDs I don't know whichever you have to have h11 H4 9003 9005 they make them all in the S1 series which is right the moment is the brightest most well engineered spot placement and all that that they make in the Gen 2 Prius you may have to dial down your housing two clicks these things will light up the road and because of the way LEDs make light or. Whatever's going on the light out of these and other types of bulb seem to scatter very quickly I mean you could have a sign 20 ft in the sky and these lights will fly up to that stuff to light it up The reflective stuff and don't let a cop be around with that new low power reflective hide in the bushes type mess these lights will light that stuff up off angle and everything show the car like a boogeyman in the bushes

 

Would you like the H4 part number I should be able to round it up for you in seconds crap I don't even know if I know how to post a link here we'll see in just a second hold on

 

Yeah the link won't paste I'm standing here with it open on eBay or whatever if you Google beamtech S1 fanless LED they immediately pop up in a Google search and Amazon and eBay are the first three names under the pictures I think and they show a funny set of carb LEDs on a silver round cinderellical circular thing with a bright blue gasket and the odd shaped heat sink and they come in all flavors try again

 

I didn't realize beam tech even made anything that involved the glass capsule over a filament A matter of fact I'm going to look now to see if that's the case I didn't think that was even possible

 

As far as I can tell on the beam tech site they make no glass globed bulbs at all so maybe you were on a weird spelling of beam tack or something The S1 usually denotes that you're talking about beamtech top line unit.

 

I had to do this with my 2005 as the HID headlights were shot as well as a deep yellowing of the lens that just would not sand or buff out.

I bought the Halogen lenses and Halogen 3 pronged harness then the HID bulbs from Amazon and new halogen lenses from E BAY. It solved my problem of malfunctioning headlights and they work and are nice and bright only thing is there is no way to adjust anything. I do very little night driving in mine and as far as I know I have yet to blind any oncoming traffic.

In my opinion those HID lights are garbage and this was an affordable solution.

Do you have fan or fanless LEDs in the halogen enclosures I thought the halogen enclos are still had the adjuster on them I think mine do I can't take a picture but there's a star wheel.

 

Mine have the fans in them and there is no adjustment in the aftermarket lenses I got on E Bay. It may be that because my car originally had the HID system rather than the Halogen and I retrofit it with the aftermarket Halogens I may be missing some Halogen lens adjustment part.

 

I take that back they actually did come with those adjustment stars.

 

So if you look in the manual that's online here somewhere look at other posts people have made here it'll tell you the right direction to turn that star wheel with a screwdriver Phillips to make that inner piece of silver move up and down knock it a couple clicks down and that should do you

 

Had I not replied to your post I would have never knew that adjustment existed.

 

Well I hope you get them adjusted satisfactorily I always forget which way is up and down so I have to make a couple of moves to see.

what I noticed with my LED conversion is that the hid assembly is better compared to halogen. The halogen assembly when paired with a high lumen (very bright) bulb tends to scatter the light on the sides, it could be the cup in the H4 which needs to be paired or the LED lumens should be of the same value as the halogen bulb.

 

Yeah that's what I thought so like if you look at the well-made LED bulbs if you look at their looming output they're around oh geez what is it now 2500 a piece something like that which is pretty close to the halogen right I thought The last time I checked they were pretty close The color of the light is substantially different but I don't think that does it it's something to do with how the cob element makes light or something it makes a light that's that just goes everywhere I don't care what you do with it until you get it in a projector housing and physically aim it through a lens of your really not doing much or you're doing stopgap measures unfortunately for my Gen 2 it's a bunch of work to get a lens and a housing and projector in the factory and no one makes an aftermarket housing the demand just isn't there.
