My dad got 2013 model with headunit model 57034. He doesn't use any of the apps on it. Main usage is connecting the phone with bluetooth for handsfree calls and music streaming. The version of software is 2.1.0. The problem is sometimes the car doesn't connect and requires re-pairing the phone. I read in a few thread similar problems were fixed by upgrading the headunit firmware. Seems it can be upgraded to 5.2.0. Seems in the past we used to be able to download the firmware package from Code: toyota[dt]com/firmware-updates/download (sorry can't post links yet) Unfortunately Toyota seems to have pulled the packages for Gen 3 Prius. Does anyone have the update package or knows where can I download it from?
Leaving this here if someone stumbles upon the same question. Going through a lot of old threads I figured that the file name for the update file is named 01039-HBEKR-16A.zip. Using all my search engine fu I was not able to locate the file anywhere. Today morning I had a lightbulb moment that it may still be available on Toyota website. I picked 2016 model, grabbed the link and changed the last part to my file name. And voila, I was able to download it and successfully apply the upgrade on my car. Hey Jack, fellow Smith here. Have a 2013 Prius that is currently on version 2.2. Bluetooth has been constantly not connecting to wife's iphone/spotify and I'm getting quite an earful. Since Toyota no longer lists 2013 software I tried your trick and it did download the file. i'll try this install and let you know how it goes.
does anyone know if 57034 uses the same firmware as the 57011 (unit form 2012 prius v with HD radio) Update: the same entune 5.2 file that is going around for many toyota cars works fine on 57011
I just used this to update my 57011 as well. Didnt recognize my 32gb flash drive and I had to use a smaller one.
I have the file, can you please tell me how to do the update? Toyota says to follow the instructions link, but I don't see one. Thanks.
