Do I have to get an alignment (gen ii) at a dealer? Canadian Tire is telling me they won't touch the Prius because of a service bulletin.

Gen2 had a problem with the steering rack being loose and had a recall that added a couple bolts to where the rack connects to the steering wheel rod. If you have a used Prius, that work may of been done already... But more to the point, Canadian Tire is just making up excuses to not do the work.

And do you even need an alignment? Uneven tire wear? Doesn't drive straight? As in nothing to worry about if you don't have significant symptoms.

    Yeah this.

I think the only thing easily adjustable is front toe; everything else it'd be "you'll need new parts".
