No wonder Toyota is the number one campaign donor to the treasonous cowards who tried to overthrow the US government. I bet once Toyota gets the type of treatment that VW got from the world's regulators they'll finally be more enthusiastic about switching to EV.

Having traded in my last Prius, a Prime, for a Tesla, Toyota already lost this repeat customer. VW did the same when they stopped making MicroBus. As for GM, they still owe an apology for the Chevette …

Perhaps pissing off former customers is cheaper than finding new customers to piss off.

So you no longer own a Toyota but you can't give up PriusChat? I wonder if there are others on here like that? Ya'll should start a special discussion group here on PriusChat. :)

We have but you have to give up your Prius to join. <GRINS>

Compared to an ordinary ICE car, a Prius is brilliant. But my EV is teaching lessons that I freely share.

I look forward to being a part of that forum some day... Because if I ever can afford an electric car it won't be because of Toyota. And when that day comes It will be fun to troll all the Prius owners with you!

I drove one under a month and have always been infatuated, given the choice of flying to California to buy a 2001 or getting a TDI, ended up with a TDI which was the worst car I ever owned

Not troll as much as sharing what works and doesn't with my EV. Prius owners have been pioneers I efficient cars. An EV is just a reasonable progression.

As a quick read of the linked article shows that Subaru, Nissan, Mazda, Suzuki, and Yamaha are in that club, and Toyota isn't (though Hino is), I'm not sure I'd see "Toyotagate" as the best name to slap on the thread.

It also seems the cheating is limited to the Japanese market.

Toyota is the largest stake holder in Fuji Heavy Industries, and thus Subaru. Seems to be benefiting Toyota more than Subaru so far.

How about Hinogate. Goes with the cablegate Rav4 hybrid feature.

    I haven't owned a Toyota since 1989.
The only reason I started hanging here is that my company went thru a "green' kick about a decade ago and bought a bunch of them for our fleet of service vehicles.
I put about 200,000 miles on two of them in 10 years, and finally traded out my calico-colored 2010 BWP for a Ford Transit van.
I miss going 500 miles between fill ups, but I certainly do not miss playing Tetris when I have to haul stuff between offices.

    As far as the OP.

    I'm "stunned".......(not)

I haven't owned a Toyota since 2014, but I can't think of a site that has a wide of a variety of BEVs, etc. than PC. (y)
I also got rid of my TDIs (biggest POSs on 4 wheels) in 2012, but I still belong to Fred's TDI.

That is actually a fairly good sized club here, and has been for a long time.

Our family hasn’t owned a Prius in 9 or 10 years.
I find this site to have a large component of efficiency focused people and a great level of discussion.

PriusChat has built a great community over the years, I don’t see why people would want to leave:)
