By the way, the reason for that repeated discharge to 6 volts ?
I have a reason for suspecting this was needed
    I never did before
During this thread I executed that
    IT WORKED
It was that step that got me to 6.5 Ah
    Go figure

Step 1- Discharge to 6 volts at a 5 amp load
Then, repeat at a 2.5 amp load
    Then, a 1.6 amp load
    Then, a 0.8 amp load
    Then, a 0.4 amp load
    Then a 0.20 amp load
Then a 0.10 amp load TO 5.9 VOLTS.

And I Lmao at the ridiculous assertion that cell reversal is possible using the above when posts on this site tell you to go lower or even ZERO lol
    R I D I C U L O U S posts here lol, seen it all before my friend, seen all of this before
    russia russia russia lol

And now, the LOGIC behind the repeated discharging, that I came up in the MIDST of this post

I saw all these posts about going below 6 volts and some VOODOO happening
    I thought about it
I REASONED that what was REALLY happening is these people were EXERCISING a portion of the module that was being neglected in other cycling attempts.
It is NOT the area below 6 volts, it is the area 6 volts and up that will not come out under higher amp loads
    Why the repeated discharges ?????
    TIME
What is really needed to FULLY RESTORE is a low low low amp load to 6 volts
And that would take WEEKS (exaggerated)
The FASTER WAY to a low amp discharge is multiple HIGHER LOW AMP DISCHARGES to bleed off that energy so WE CAN GET TO THE LOW AMP DISCHARGE TO 6 VOLTS

AND WHY TO 5.9 VOLTS ON THE LAST STEP ????
BECAUSE YOUR VOLT METER MAY BE WRONG AND OVER REPORTING AND 5.9 VOLTS IS SAFE AS YOU CAN GO TO 0.9 VOLTS PER CELL SAFELY AND THATS 5.4 VOLTS

Hope this CLARIFIES things for you lol

I AM SEEING A 13% INCREASE IN AH USING THIS STEP LOL

    It is simple Simon !!!!
The Ah that I see come out from these repeated discharges, that are only released at low Amp loads, SUDDENLY start coming out at HIGH AMP LOADS when tested a second time , THEY ARE RESTORED TO USE BY LOAD and not HIDDEN.

    DUH

I love when "internet experts" challenge my results, after the results are known and proven. lol

The PROOF as they say, its in my pudding, come eat some. :)

P.S. The step 2 charge LOW until 7.1 7.2 volts, IMPORTANT,, make sure you do it, that's from industry not me.

Tracy, can you confirm for me - am I correctly understanding that in this step you are not charging between each discharge, but are restarting the next discharge with the lower load each time?

what, your modules didn't come with a convenient fill plug ?
and before you start... yes, i know, its brass mixing with potassium hydroxide, thank you.
you know what that fitting is sized for ?

I know this is off the subject of this very in-depth thread, and I apologize. I’m a single mom trying to do this all on my own. I swapped out my 12V Battery in my 2014 Prius C. After getting it all hooked back up and panel back on, I realized I didn’t put the red plastic cap back over the positive terminal. Is ok to leave it like that? Or do I need to take the panel back off and put it back on? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

not critical but for safety reasons I would go back and put it back on, it is there as a just in case, like something metal falls in there or someone who doesnt know the danger works in there and grounds a tool to that post while turning a screw or something.

First, get all the power out of it so it is "safer" lol :O

fyi there was 7/10 of an amp hour in the bottom end

Well, I am probably not near as smart as you, however...

OH LOOKY, AT WHAT HAPPENED BY WAITING A WEEK TO RE-TEST, A PERFECTLY GOOD HIGH AMP HOUR MODULE THAT TESTED REPEATEDLY AS GOOD HAS PROVEN TO HAVE A HIGH RATE OF SELF DISCHARGE,

MAN AM I GLAD I DID SOMETHING STUPID LIKE LET IT SIT A WEEK AND RE-TEST PRIOR TO PUTTING IT IN THE CAR AND FINDING OUT THE FIRST TIME I LEFT TOWN AND CAME BACK TO A BAD BATTERY THAT I HAD JUST SPENT WEEKS REBUILDING

    INTERNET EXPERTS, GOTTA LOVE EM

(BY THE WAY I USED TO PRODUCE THE TEST SCENARIOS AND TEST SCRIPTS FOR GTE AND NORTHERN TELECOM BACK IN THE DAY AND HEADED THE Y2K TEST RESOLUTION AND COMPLIANCE FOR GTE GOVERNMENT SYSTEMS AS MANDATED BY THE SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION, I'M NOT A TOTAL TARD LOL )

Unsolicited derogatory opinions and comments are like butt-holes, everyone's got one,
except Kim Jong-un, Supreme Leader of North Korea, it's a fact, google it, claim he has one in North Korea and you will be summarily executed.

MAN I'M GLAD I'M TOTALLY STUPID AND LET THIS MODULE NUMBER 8 SIT A WEEK AND RE-TEST PRIOR TO PUTTING THE PACK BACK IN THE CAR

So I am recharging 8 one more time to check it, but it's futile, it's resting voltage just minutes after a deep discharge is 7.71 volts, that means it has one cell that has failed due to lack of water that can still provide all of its amp hours but not at the high 1c amp rate.

I went back and checked, number 8 came from a bed of 15 previously tested and graded cells and was just inserted into this honda insight pack last week

Can you please remind me again of the device that you're using to get these beautiful graphs of your module health? I think @alftoy answered this for me last time you posted a graph like this, but can't remember what happened to that link?
