Best way to raise a Prius to work under it?

18.25” min height is a deal breaker; most reg floor jacks can’t lift that high?

 

When I installed my Miller cat shield, it was a PITA to work under since the cat was in the direct center and the car was so low. I’m at 170 lb so size is not the issue. You definitely need to raise it up a good amount to have decent working room. I was using rhino ramps to lift the front and jack/jack stands for the rear.

 

from Harbor Freight you want the Pittsburgh ramps made of plastic, not metal. those are at a shallower angle than the steel ones so your bumper will just clear them.

 

I've wanted some of the Quick Jacks for years but just too expensive. I have Rhino rubber drive-on ramps, a floor jack, and four steel jack stands.
If I need to do any extensive work, I have the option of renting a car lift over at the Auto Hobby shop at the Air Force Academy. I use that when I do my yearly lube job on the 4x4 Tundra...makes it so much easier.

 

Fortunately, I got mine for $1,000 delivered on a Black Friday promotion 5 years, ago. For many years, that was the price ordered at Costco. Now, I wonder if I can afford one, myself.

Two Rennstands an two ESCO low profile jack stands easily allow the car to be raised on all four corners much faster than the Quickjack.

Too bad, Bogert at Safejacks lost their license, and now, they are over $200 each. Bogert has certified aerospace FAA qualified welders and made exceptional quality units in USA. The Chinese made ETC versions have half the capacity as the ones Bogert designed and made. When available, they are $130 each plus shipping.

The Rennstand and ESCO jack stand combination is easiest and quickest to use. It takes no more than 15-20 minutes to level the car on all four corners with all four wheels off the ground.

Raising the front pinch weld jacking point with the Rennstand gets the whole one side off the pavement, with enough height to get the rear wheel cleared to be removed after placing the jack stand and locking the Rennstand by lowering the jack. The other side of the car is juat as easy to raise, and you're done.
