I have had the Lithium pack in my car for two years already and the average mpg gain is 10 miles. The light pack makes it easy to install and remove. Check my profile out for the link I used.

Over 40k miles of high desert temps. Those temps ranging from below 32F-115F I have shorted, highly overcharged and completely discharged this pack. Any feedback as far as increased power or capacity? I get stuck on longer hill climbs at high elevation and when my battery pack gives out I'm stuck at 55mph.
My 2004 with the new NexCel battery does much better on the interstate drives. Also, when at stops with A/C on the ICE engine doesn't come on as much, I've set for 15 minuets with the ICE not coming on, before it would come on in 2-3 minuets. Best $2379 I've ever spent.
This is the scenario that impressed me the most with Nexcell... High mountain passes are no longer limping along in the slow lane but one lane over where faster cars go and pack never drops below three bars and an app that makes it easy to keep engine at 3500rpm (the most efficient engine speed) made me feel like I was driving a different car over the mountains.
My last two tanks full it's getting 52 mpg. 80% interstate and 20% city. Before changing NexCell it was getting 46 mpg on the same trip. I check the MPG by dividing miles by the gallons to fill up.. I don't rely on the 'Dream Oh Meter' MPG mileage..
Today the temp was 90+ in the parking lot. I ran the A/C for 20 minutes and the ICE never kicked in. Never could run the ac that long before. NexCel power !
I agree... The Air Conditioner works at full power on the hottest days and the amp level takes a really, really long time to go low enough for the computers to reduce the amount of power the AC uses
Thus far our grid charger options plug into 120v-240 AC standard home outlet both foreign and domestic. But you could easily adapt these systems if you use an inverter that converts DC voltage from solar panels into standard 120v-240v AC via an inverter. Managing High Voltage DC suitable to grid charge a pack directly would require electronic gear that is less common and thus far less affordable.
Looks like ProjectLithium is now sold out of all versions of its products. They really need to get new cell suppliers.

So I read the post. What I'm reading here is these types of cells will go without warning and what happens? The car stops? That's a pass for me thanks. Maybe if the cells were fast swappable. With some spares at the ready. Could be done and the form factor probably doesn't need to be followed so close to the original module configuration. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
The truth is you're going to put the pack in the car and it's going to run without issue for ten years or longer so there's no need to do a fast swap. And as someone who does warranty repairs on these packs the only concern I've seen with two packs out of 500 sold is that older Gen2 Prius tend to have corroded voltage sensor wires that can fry the hybrid battery ECU, which is not a project lithium failure, but an installer that didn't address the pre-existing corrosion issue failure with new voltage sensing harness and thorough cleaning of other components. What's more, when this rare problem does come up it doesn't mean "the car stops" but that warning lights on your dash come on and then you open up Dr. Prius app and take some screenshots and clear the warning lights and keep driving until you have a chance to address the issue. More importantly, when you're running your air conditioning in the hottest part of summer, or are doing too much EV mode in traffic, or climbing up a mountain, this lithium pack outperforms OEM packs in huge ways.
