Heavy Springs And Lift Upgrade

    Also I forgot to mention I did the new springs/lift block method only I bought the knock off lift blocks from EBay for 150.00 rather than the 350.00 for the solid steel Prius off road blocks. Laugh all you want but polyurethane offers a softer ride than solid steel and at 200.00 less? (y)

    I cut my rear perches off just a little different so they slid right on after flattening the factory perch. I only eyeballed the alignment of the rear assembly, but I've done a lot of struts. Also, I had to buy a whole matrix assembly for the front and steal the springs.

    In all seriousness, I did mine because the rear springs are heavier for when I'm full of camping gear. The lift aspect is a bonus, I no longer have to leave some of the places I go at an angle. Also there's a little peace of mind when driving down some of the campground roads we go to.

    So that I am able to travel down dirt/rocky roads without losing my oil pan in the process. If you go back and read the previous post's it's all there. (y)

    actually a better one... making a kickstarter or other for a set of all four springs for the Gen 2, 3 and 4 that provide a 1" inch lift all around, debating on making the rear 1.5" inch. Thoughts?

    I would want my car to be level front and back which would probably be more like 2" front 1.5" rear :)

    If you raise the front more than the back, you’ll change the aerodynamics of the car.

    I personally plan not to run spacers(prius offroad lift kit) and springs at the same time so my ideal situation would be a spring that lifted the car to a level position about 1.5" - 2" taller than it sits stock. I would think for most people this makes sense. Running both will require subframe spacers and a much bigger wheel/tire combination commitment.
