Last reference says it best, "The company will reveal full specs and features in July." The rest was a word salad that did not give enough detail to inspire me.

The side view mirrors are interesting.

Love the design. Very sleek and classy. Looks better than the Tesla IMO.

It's already available in other countries, but US laws don't allow us to have them yet.

I agree. One of the better looking cars, in my opinion.

I was interested until I found out it has a truck rather than a lift-back, making it nearly useless for me.

Not to worry - Hyundai /Kia have a number of all electric vehicles and PHEV with lift-backs/hatchbacks available and many more all electric on the way in the next couple of years.

Unfortunately, they keep screwing up one thing or another.

The Ioniq 5 has nice features but horrible packages.
The EV6 has better packages but lacks the moving rear seat.
Both have lousy efficiency if you get the 4WD version.
    The Ioniq6 lacks a lift-back.
The Kona has slow "fast" charging.

They just seem to be *almost* getting it right, but not quite.

I disagree I have a KIA NIRO PHEV that they did just right.

Hold your horses and wait for all their new electric models coming out without prejudging them before they are even introduced. Their NIRO EV was the recent car of the year. They are doing something right.

These are exciting times for all electric vehicles with competition finally leveling the field and soon the EV models will have to cater to customer tastes and preferences to survive. I wouldn't dismiss a maker who is committed to going all electric on their product line and introducing new models every year. I would support them and encourage then to keep the models coming.

KIA/Hyundai have made great strides in quality and customer satisfaction doing very well in JD Power rankings against all the big boys in the automobile sector. They are one of the current automakers who are influencing the current automotive market.

I hope all the automakers begin introducing new exciting electric models driving the pricing down and the feature content up.

85kW "fast" charging on the Niro makes it a non-starter for road trips for me. Sitting for 45 minutes every 2 hours would be excruciating. I just did a 9-hour, 600 mile trip with one stop for lunch. Adding 5 45-minute charging stops means I have to leave the day before and get a hotel.

Yep..BEVs just are not 'there yet' for me. If they can get a cheap BEV down to a reasonable price for a second vehicle, I may consider one. The new pricing for the Bolt is the closest one yet that comes close to achieving that.

Also, the side profile pf the Ioniq 6 reminds me a bit of my 2012 Sonata...haha.

The 18 minute charge from 10-80% on the Ioniq 5 and EV6 is the minimum speed I'd accept for a road trip. It would be inconvenient and painful, but I might be able to put up with it if I were always going where there are chargers (which is about half of my road trips). 45 minutes is a non-starter.

Jesus Bob. July is tomorrow! Details will be less than a month away.

Yes. Variations are under consideration including a wagon.

Looks kinda like a 1/2 hatchback -- 1/2 trunk design.

I really like the simplicity of it... Very clean! And if you got it in all black and put on less ugly wheels it'd be a beautiful car. Sure wish Toyota could design a car that's this clutter free!
