    Hello all,

My 2006 with 171000 miles has a bunch of error messages and I'm at the dealership now. It's probably the hybrid battery since I'm hearing airflow from rear passenger side. I'm the original owner and this is the original battery. What's the cost to replace the battery these days at a dealership? What other options do I have? I don't live in a major city so I don't have easy access to hybrid mechanics etc.

    Thanks,
    Michgal007

Though it sounds like a failing HV battery, best to get the codes (DTCs) from the dealer and post them here for additional guidance.

A dealer installed HV battery generally runs from 2400 to 4500, average is likely around 3k.

Are you a DIY type of person, or know anyone who is handy and has some basic tools?

They quoted $3300 and I get the car back tomorrow. I'm not DYI for this type of things. I'm going with it. I guess 16 years without anything major was great.

You have a local member ( @TMR-JWAP ) in Columbia who offers quality HV batteries installed, and could install the new OEM as well.

Hopefully the dealership will clean up the HV battery fan while doing the replacement, which may help the new battery last longer.

Thank you. I'm gonna put this charge on a new travel credit card and get $700 worth points. Haha, making lemonade here.
