Hey guys so somehow I end up with this bad abs module according to the codes . But I have changed it 2 times from the ones I’ve bought on eBay and when I installed them I still get same codes they didn’t leave the display screen after replacing the abs module. And the first time with first part the break pedal would go a little too low and can feel car wasn’t breaking until pedal was deep. today I switched to another abs module and still same codes and I bled breaks and the break pedal is now little hard but it lags to break and when it breaks it only does it with left caliper, makes tire slide and the right side keeps spinning while pedal is being pressed completely. Any suggestions guys ?
Same problem here all the parts are not new and probably have same issue as original . Theyres a guy on eBay who say he can rebuild he sent me two parts to try . I will do soon. But this is how most Gen 2's go to the junkyard there's many there and I bet most of them have this problem and not blown engines or batteries but usually the brakes because nobody can get the parts to fix it seems that's correct
That won't bleed the brakes. There are valves inside the actuator that won't be open unless the bleed procedure is being run. Air behind them won't be bled out. The system is pretty much guaranteed to work weirdly/badly when not bled.
You need a device that can connect to the car's OBD-II connector and command the brake system to go through its bleed sequence. A laptop with Toyota Techstream is the obvious choice, but there is a recent thread with some alternate recommendations too.
so there is no way, there can be a manually done brake bleed without this Toyota techstream device ? Do all Toyota techstreams work for all Toyotas ? Or do I have to buy certain one for the specific car .
There are alternatives to Techstream that you can find listed by following the link I gave above. Generally, a version of Techstream ought to work with any Toyota car that isn't newer than that version of Techstream. And it might even have a lot of its functionality still with newer cars too, though that's a gamble. Sometimes there can be some Techstream operations that might not work right depending on the dongle that is being used with the computer running Techstream.
