But if you buy the Toyota, you are buying a first year of production for a very much not in their experience making or fixing car.

There are Automotive Dealers who work with you on Federal and State rebates. KIA/Hyundai does this but I don't know about Nissan.
If you enter a lease with KIA or Hyundai they would figure in the tax rebate on your lease deal and after you had ironed out the details and made some payments you can buy the vehicle. The Dealer buys the vehicle and leases it and they are then the recipient of the Federal and possible State incentives as the buyer of the vehicle. They have no trouble meeting the income levels for the rebates.

Of course this is something that could change with time or rebate legislation, but many Dealer help you out with rebates etc. Maybe in the current car buying climate this has changed.

Hmmm true. All good points from everyone. the liquid cooled is a no brainer. And since we would take TMY on trips it makes sense to go cheaper in my commuter car.
2017 Bolt premium is the latest focus. No more federal rebates on either Tesla or Chevy so that is out. I’m thinking I repaint my 08 Prius and drive that for a few more years. it’s paid for and even if Gas goes to $10 a gallon I’d only spend $200 a month max on gasoline. And that would give us more time to pay down the Tesla and save for my BEV.
great info and insights to all that have contributed. It has been a lot to process.

Used Bolts are still commanding a premium in this market. It's better to buy new and get a new car with a warranty, more safety features, and a CO state rebate.

You should work on your units. MWH is Mega-Watt-Hours (millions of watt hours). mWh is milli-Watt-Hours (thousandths of a watt hour). In this case, the correct unit is KWH - Kilo-Watt-Hours (thousands of watt hours).

I thought kWh is lowercase, not KWH?

    You're correct.
Units named after a person use an uppercase letter. The rest are lowercase.
