No rotation since Costco does that for free for me, but yes, complete conventional oil, filter with tax. And they don’t overfill.
I'm glad you liked that hit piece on non-Tesla EVs poor charging infrastructure. The way I knew it was a hit piece is that the author chose to rent an EV for a multi-day trip and did all sorts of research on the route and chargers. But then she was surprised to learn what a kilowatt was (even described it wrong) and that some DC "fast" chargers were faster than others. The big complaint was that a 24 kw charger wasn't really very fast. Pretty dumb for a "reporter" to not figure out in advance that 24 kw is not really very fast. Note the car she rented had a battery of 58 or 78 kwh (She was still confused about this). Using 5th grade arithmetic and the most optimistic charging rate a "full" charge would take as much as 3 hours for the longer range model. She should have known that before starting. Whereas Electrify America (EA chargers built out by VW as part of the diesel scandal ) has chargers, that she discussed, that go as high as 350 kw. The most optimistic (and naive) thought would be that this would take only 22 minutes. How could she have NOT done this math before leaving? (Even though we know that in practice the charging rate does slow down. Possible answers: a) reporters skip math in school b) intentional hit piece Mike
i recently hit the 10 year mark. $1,000. for oil and filter changes $700. for replacement tires $200. for a 12v battery $100. for air filters $1,000. for gas $4,000. for electricity $7,000. total
How many miles in ten years? The best part of using an EV for ex-Urban travel is that you have to plan ahead where you will have or even be able to recharge the vehicle, making the trip all that much more fun. Must make camping trips very pleasant too.
i don't recall, but my 2004 was recalled because they were stopping on the highway. the software had to be reflashed.
Looks like there were one or more involving shutdowns that required reprogramming. Software Problems of the 2004 Toyota Prius
