I am wanting to purchase a nice set of 4 Toyota Prius PLUS 17” Forged Factory Wheels for our 2014 Prius Plug-In.

Located in the Portland, Oregon Metro area.

We put on a new set of Nokian snow tires on the stock 16" Plug-In style wheels this past winter, and the old mis-matched all-season tires that had been on them before are too worn to bother remounting.

An extra set of wheels with tires ready to go is a faster and easier changeover, and I'd love the look of those 17" forged wheels for the rest of the year.

A few sets of these beautiful wheels have shown up here for sale in recent months, but they have out of my region and not available for shipping.

Willing to pay fair market value plus shipping. Spring weather is here in the PNW and it's time for us to swap from our winter set. If I get no bites in the next week or so, I'll probably see if I can order a brand new set from the dealer. Not interested in aftermarket wheels.

    Thanks for looking.

A bit of a bump and a new tip I learned while shopping wheel prices at my area dealerships...

The dealership we use for our regular service is the same dealer we bought our car from in 2017. The drive is about thirty minutes away from our home, and there are at least two dealerships that are closer to us including one right here in our town, but our Prius' Certified Used status would keep us coming back for the included maintenance package. Our free maintenance package ran out about two years after the car's purchase, but we have continued to make that drive out of habit and fear of change. (Also, the dealership's free shuttle van would scoot us out to the nearby brewery/winery property that my wife loves so much while we would wait for our service to be performed).

Anyway, after shopping online for wheels prices, $285.01/wheel (not including $50.61 shipping) was the best price I've been able to find for the PTR20-47010 Prius PLUS 17" Split spoke wheels, from a dealership in Greenville, SC. I asked for a quote from our usual dealership's parts counter via an online quote form, but when I heard back from them they told me that they were unable to sell the wheels for anything less than the $349.00 MSRP list price.

I decided to expand my inquiry to other area dealerships. I called the parts counter of the dealership here in my town and they told me that the wheels were not currently in stock but they could get them in a few days. They, too, were priced at the full MSRP list price. I asked if they would be able to offer any matching discount similar to what i had been able to find online. The parts sales agent said "Well, I don't know about that but let me ask a manager..." and placed my call on hold. A short time later the agent came back on the line and asked if I was a Costco member. I told him that I am, and he said that the management says that through the Costco Auto program, Costco members can indeed save 15% on dealership parts with a special promotional offer, up to $500.00. The agent explained that it was not valid for online orders, but that the promotion would be valid if brought in person to the parts counter. I thanked the agent and explained that I would look into this promotion. And sure enough, after visiting the web page for the Costco Auto Program, I was able to find the page with the 15% discount promotion for participating dealership parts departments. I filled out an online form and was immediately emailed a promotional code. A 15% discount off the price of a $349 wheel would be $296.65, a savings of $52.35 per wheel, before tax. Not bad! I shouldn't have to pay for shipping since it's my local dealership and I can pick up the order myself. Tire Pressure Monitoring System sensors will be extra, of course.

And this brings us up to date.... I guess this is my last chance to see if anyone has a used set of 4 out there that they would be willing to part with for a better price than this. There was a recent ebay listing for a pair of wheels with tires, but there are no other listings to complete a set of four wheels. At this point I'm kind of excited to have a brand new set. Haven't decided on tires yet. I have a set of Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ tires for our Subaru, and I'm thinking of Michelin's updated model, the Pilot Sport All Season 4 for the Prius. Happy to hear input from anyone here if they have experience with these tires.

Looks like I'm not the first person to be confounded by a lack of Edit Post button, so I suppose that means that I will simply have to post replies to my thread to add updates.

On Thursday, I dropped into my town's local Toyota dealer's parts counter and was able to place an order for the set of four Prius PLUS 17" Forged Alloy Wheels, four Tire Pressure Monitoring System sensors, and a set of security lugs for 4 wheels, and all of these items qualified for my Costco Auto Program parts discount of 15%. The order should be in stock by the middle of this week. If everything goes as planned we'll be rolling on the new wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires by next weekend, which will be ordered through, mounted & balanced by one of my town's Discount Tire store locations. Once everything is finished I'll try to get this classified posting to be listed as "sold", or, er, "bought", or however a WTB listing is described as "done" XD

On Saturday we picked up our new set of four Prius PLUS 17" Forged Alloy Wheels, four Tire Pressure Monitoring System sensors, and a set of PLUS Performance security lugs for 4 wheels from my town's Toyota dealership. Just before we loaded the order onto the hatch of our Prius, I asked the parts guy to open a couple of the boxes to verify that the items were correct and undamaged, and they appeared perfect.

We then drove directly to our appointment at the tire shop just a couple miles from there and walked to a nearby coffee shop while the tire shop did its thing with the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires that I had placed on order earlier in the week. In less time than expected, my phone had received an automated text that our car was finished and ready for pickup. The tire shop did a great job and all of the new tires had been perfectly mounted without scuffing or damaging any of the shiny new finish of the wheels. I forgot to ask to keep the boxes for the new wheels, but I don't know that I would have been able to fit them in the hatch with the stock set of wheels with snow tires in the back for the ride home, anyway.

We drove home safely I and snapped a couple pics in the driveway under the late afternoon sunshine. I luuurve the new set, and I think it completely transforms the look of the car. Thank you everyone who has read this thread, and here are a couple snapshots with the new set of wheels for you to enjoy (Not For Sale):

Looks great! I’ll be throwing my set on my Winter Gray 2012 this week as well. Which lug nuts did you end up using aside from the OEM locks?

Thank you, m3pare, I think it all looks pretty dang sharp.
This was the locking lug set that I purchased from my dealership:

toyota Prius Plus performance installation kit. Wheels - PTR2747100 - Genuine toyota Accessory

Since I drove directly from the dealership to the tire shop, I didn't open the package to closely inspect the components. However, I thought everything was included in the kit to mount the wheels. The tire shop put them on, and in less time than I expected. If there were lug nuts that were separate from the kit I never saw them and I don't believe I was charged for any additional merchandise by the tire shop. My original lugs for the stock PIP-style wheels were returned to me, and I presume I'll have the tire shop use them again when we have the winter set put back on.

I'm fairly mechanically inclined (I did the brakes myself just a couple days before this), but this is my first experience with locking lugs and I let the guys who deal with wheels & tires every day handle all of that for this project.

Do you want to move this to the regular PiP forum?
