2014 Prius 3 Had front end crash about 4 months ago. Put a new fully charged battery and changed the battery on the key fob. The battery checks 12.6 at the engine compartment fuse box. The key fob won't lock or unlock doors. The lights and horn work but the dash won't light up. The power button is lit but nothing happens when pressed.
pretty tough to diagnose over the net. it sounds like someone needs to take a good look at all the wiring in the area of the damage. has it been repaired?
I don't remember what it's called, but after a collision, something locks that needs to be unlocked in the main ecu. Did the air bags deploy? I remember reading somewhere on Prius Chat, but can't remember what or where it is.
I agree Especially if the airbags deployed. Hopefully more people can respond and give you more info. I believe that the main battery has a fuse. (Hybrid battery which is your engine cranking battery)
^ My first thought too. IIRC: someone here recently had a VERY minor front end tap (just in a parking lot), the computers decided to blow the air bags, and the car wouldn't start thereafter.
Not sure about the Gen3, but the Gen 2 has a small relay(?) mounted on the driverside of the inverter that disables the hybrid system if the crash sensors detect an impact. Pretty sure that's what it's for. Been a while since I played with it. But, that doesn't really explain why even the dash isn't powering up. maybe damaged wiring and a blow fuse(s)?
