Only problem with the Lisle kit, it makes 5/8 inch threads hat are equivalent to 15mm. There is not enough "meat" on the thin walls of the stripped out threaded hole to take that large a thread.

Carefully used, the 13mmx1.25 tap will follow the grooves in the original M12x1.25 threads and cut only a half a millimeter off the wall of the hole,

I see. Odd that Toyota doesn’t sell the small piece with the collar. That would be a simple repair.

And the item would be in demand, considering the gorillas dealerships employ to do oil changes.

If it was my car, I keep one of these Dorman rubber plugs in reserve in my car, so that I can or the shop changing the oil can fill the crankcase with oil and allow the car to be driven.

At my convenience, before the next oil change, I'd purchase this oil pan and gasket off of Amazon.

Instead of the silicone used to "glue" the pan to the upper pan, I either have a local non-dealer shop install the new pan or do it myself in an hour or two. Waiting hours for the silicone to cure is ridiculous.
