Electrified vehicles include hybrids without a plug.

They probably also include Hydrogen, unfortunately.

While not 100% (about 99% though) wrong..."electrified" is so misleading. Really wish car companies hadn't gotten in the habit of using that term.

    True.
All their cars are electrified technically. They have electric lights and even have electronic ignition and entertainment systems.

Yeah but it makes it look good when they can include hybrids (Which they'll sell more of over EVs and PHEVs). "We will have on sale 20 electrified models by 2025" looks better than "We will have on sale 3 PHEVs/EVs by 2025")

quite interesting stats. In Japan and North America, sales fell 133,500 units between 2013 and 2017, European sales increased 239,400 to outsell north america. Japanese and North American sales were 81% of Toyota's hybrid market in 2013, but these two fell to only 59.5% in 2017 - Europe to 25.8%, and ROW 14.7%.

For that you would need to know what vehicles were not bought, and how many miles the hybrid versus the alternative traveled. I have no idea of these statistics.

Had to download the spreadsheet to look at the numbers, and there were a few interesting things.

Toyota and Lexus world wide Sold 1.5M hybrids in 2017 and 2.5M in 2021 while they actually decreased in Japan from 657K to 552K. In 2017 16% of toyota/Lexus vehicles were hybrids, 26% in 2021. North America was toyota's biggest hybrid market and grew faster than europe, but europe stayed toyota's number 2 hybrid market with north america going from 3rd to first.

BEVs and FCEVs were rounding errors in terms of sales, bevs simply because toyota didn't produce them, fcev because people didn't want to buy or lease them.

PHEVs rose to 111K for the year but this number was held back by production. Hopefully toyota will make enough batteries for phevs soon. Add these to the hybrids and toyota/lexus sold 27% hybrids and plug-ins in 2021.
