Installing this combination turn signal/DRL on my 2013 V. Has anyone installed these? If so, where did you pull the power for the DRLs? Thanks in advance for any advice!
I used a fuse tap and a relay to get power for my LED foglights used as DRLs directly from the fusebox. Used the 12v constant on/hot terminal for power. Tapped one of the 5amp fuses in the front right row of the fusebox to trigger the relay in Ready Mode, I think it's the inverter pump fuse, or something like that. I bought these for my 2012 v Five, then removed them, relying instead on an 'on when +12.8V' relay powering much brighter yellow LEDs with white halos replacing the fogs.
Here's where the constant 12v on/hot open terminals are at the back of the fusebox, the ones with the red wires going to them. They take regular 1/4 inch push on terminals. https://priuschat.com/index.php?posts/2500368 Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Nothing appears in your post, but look for a voltage sensitive relay (VSR) or module. Should stay open at resting battery voltage, close when alternator kicks voltage up. This item is similar to what I installed on the fleet, years ago: Automatic DRL Daytime Running Lights Module Box ON/OFF Controller Relay Harness | eBay
So I do have these on my Prius but I'd like to turn them on with the headlights, is that possible? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
