UIHello, first time posting. I have spent many hours reading the post here and the many great replies. I have a 2013 C with 175k on it. About a year ago the 12v battery died. I replaced it and about 2 months later I got the hybrid warning light. I pulled the pack out, cleaned all of the bars, the fan and ducts on both ends. I read the voltage on each module resting. Range was 7.81 and 7.80 on #1 and # 20 modules, and down to 7.57 on 8, 9 , 10. No modules were leaking. I got the P0A80 code on a cheap obd11 scanner. At the time I checked the inverter pump and it was working. The difference in driving has been worse mpg, engine not shutting down as often when at lights and drive-thru places, and cruise control will only work if you clear the code, but the code always returns in a few miles. So this week I pulled the battery out and did a test and a load test with a bulb. The high 7.81 module when loaded dropped to 7.49 The lowest module of 7.57 dropped to 7.11 I cleaned all of the bars again and this time I putt the stronger modules on the middle and worked back to the ends with the next strongest putting the low ones on #1 and #20. On starting it up, the first thing I noticed was that it stayed in Ready for a good while before the engine kicked in. I took it for a 10 mile test drive. When I got back and opened my gate, the engine shut off like it use to, went up the 1/8 mile drive at 5 mph parked it,and the engine remained off for about 3 minutes. It seemed like it was fixed. The next day I drove it for 30 highway miles. Shut it down all day, started it up and the dash light was off, but within a couple miles it came back. I checked the inverter pump today and it is not working. I plan on keeping this car for only another 12 to 18 months. If it needs a battery, I will replace it. Has anyone had experience with GreenTech? They advertise a rebuilt for 995.00 with a 12 mo and up to a 1795.00 with brand new modules and 48 mo warr. Sorry for the long winded post. Just trying to get all of the info out on this. Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this problem.
You said that the inverter pump is NOT working. Why would you not fix that first. You should. Your battery readings aren't THAT bad. Maybe better than what you might get with a "rebuild".
Thank you for the reply. I checked the 12v today. Ignition off it is 12.48 volts. Ignition on Ready it is 14.49
12.48 when OFF is low. Not dangerously low but a sign of needing to shop for a new one. Whatever you read in ready mode is NOT the battery but the charging voltage from the inverter.
dig4dirt.....I installed the 12v battery April 2020. About 2 months after installing the hybrid warning started flashing.
instead of ig on, try turning on the headlights, and watch the voltage drop. you should be measuring at the jump point under the hood. get the pump installed, and recheck the codes if the light comes on again
