The average elevation difference between the two states is 6300ft There is 20% to 22% less air drag in Colorado than Alabama.

NIO has 700 of those in China. 20 are planned for Norway by the end of next year, and they just opened their first delivery and service center there in October. Those are in addition to whatever travel and destination chargers they have installed.

Not a fan of battery swapping myself, but NIO does deserve credit for supporting their products and customers past the sale. It's how another EV company managed to beat ICE competitors in the market.

Chinese EV car companies are just starting to move outside of their home country. The realities of the global EV market mean they are more likely to start in Europe first. Criticisms of them for not being available in the US is misplaced. It should be pointed at the market conditions here that have resulted in the US being third place.

I live at 5,340 feet and work at 6,040 feet.

It's actually less than that for me, since I'm mostly at 5,340 give-or-take, so it's closer to 15-17%. However, 2/3rds (on average) of car energy goes into rolling resistance, not air drag, so that's perhaps only a 5% savings overall.
