Finally found a car. Now I am up to my neck in debt... but the worst search in my life, so far, is over.
Now I am moving to the gen 4 area.
She needs a little TLC... some paint repair... Cleaned her once after this shot... and she will need a few more before a KY (that is me) special detail. Amazing how panels on white cars collect dust and dirt... and leaf powder that can mold.

So far I love it. Have some questions: Like the best care for the sofTex® seats. And maybe how to remove the a pillar and get some power wired... (but that is another post.) I may just keep using the leather cleaner conditioner... but that might be a bad idea?

What are you all using to maintain the sofTex® seat covers?
    Clean?
    Protect?
    Scotchguard???

    Thanks,

How To Take Care of Toyota SofTex Seats | Dolan Toyota (dolanrenotoyota.com)

"Water mixed with non-scent soap works fine on cleaning the surface of your SofTex seats.
However, alcohol-based upholstery, leather, and vinyl cleaners or conditioner solutions work ideally for your Toyota seating."

Remember no oil base solutions like Armoral on the seats, Dash, and doors. The Leather Steering wheel and Shift Arm can be cleaned with the same and a conditioner.

    Congrats on the new car!
Glad to hear the search and decision is over.

Not sure what your special detail contains, but I clay bar'd my cars for the first time a couple years ago
and was amazed at all resulting properties.

I use 303 products Aerospace int/ext blue bottle. (they do have other products that might be better suited for softex, but im happy)
For the softex, I use it liberally on all surfaces and then wipe off excess after sitting a few hours or day.
It will give a slippery feel at first but fades mostly on the wipe off and then rest over time.
I would normally put a towel on seat after to use full body to remove and then use towel to get nooks and crannies.
I reapply once a year interior and sometimes more on exterior.
I also use it on tires (as tire shine/dressing after each wash) and plastics in engine bay.

The blizzard white color has always seemed to hide dirt for me, however being picky
I always would like to clean it more often to look pristine, lol.

not sure what is going on with links, but here is a pic

Honestly? Just a damp cloth with warm water is what I use to clean. Oh and vacuum beforehand.

I used Scotchguard on my cloth seats--helps keep drink spills from soaking in and staining the seats.

For sofTex UV protection (if the car is parked out in the sun often) I've seen this mentioned in other forums, though I've never tried it myself:

Since I will be doing uber... I need extra protection... a lot to think about.
I am over 50 and have plenty of experience with Armorall....
You could not pay me to put it on anything in my car... it will eventually crack... it was the bomb when it came out, but so was raindance wax. Those days are over.

I can tell you that I used the mequires synthetic was and sealer in the black box and black bottle. Then the quick wax and or detailer and the paint on my 2010 Prius looked amazing. 1 year of not washing much due to covid and on the first wash it came clean and looked new. Thought about trying ceramic... but if you do not need to strip the paint of wax before using it.... that does not sound like something I want to try just yet. There are no definitive reviews and there are a lot of different kinds making different claims.. I know the mequires works phenomenal. this is what I want for these seats... They do not look resilient at all.

Yeah, I usually will do a clay bar... possibly wash with dishwashing soap as it is good at stripping wax away.
then hopefully it will be clean enough to do the

I am sick of the ambiguity of their products. I believe I used the first product. Will be home in a few days to check.

    Meguiar's® Ultimate Liquid Wax, G18216, 16 oz., Liquid, Applicator, Towel | Meguiar's (meguiars.com)

    Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax, Long-Lasting, Easy to Use Synthetic Wax - G210516, 16 Oz | Meguiar's (meguiars.com)

Then quick wax or detailer to keep it going year round. Since I wash it several times a week.. it never gets too dirty that it needs to be super cleaned.

    Meguiar's® Quik Wax®, A1624, 24 oz., Spray | Meguiar's (meguiars.com)

    Meguiar's® Quik Detailer® Mist & Wipe, A3316, 16 oz., Spray | Meguiar's (meguiars.com)

I also use really nice microfiber towels from Chemical guys.

Not the best but the car was sweet.

any leather cleaner and leather conditioner will work , or a leather cleaner/conditioner combo product. I prefer Griot;s Garage.
