That is true, unless the dealer advertises using MOA and points at the 5 presidential service awards on it's wall while using recycled oil for customers that purchased the lifetime free oil change promotion when they bought the car. Did I read the fine print?
edit: besides overfilling between 1/2 to 1 quart EVERY (from 2002) time, and blaming the outsourced mazda dealer next door.
The misses 94 intrepid was the first I'd experienced the recycled oil (green award) dealer scam.

Picked up the car yesterday and dropped it off today at the tint/PPF shop.
Getting full frontal XPEL UltimatePlus PPF and XPEL PrimeXR Plus tint @ 35% on all the glass.
When I go back Friday to pick up the car they will have had it longer than me.

Tint/PPF turned out good - PPF isn't perfect but my expectations may be a bit high. Tint is just right at 35%.
Brought it home Friday evening and spent all day yesterday prepping and applying ceramic coating. GTechniq Crystal Serum Light topped with EXO. Also did all the black trim with their C4 Permanent Trim Restorer and glass with G1 Clearvision Smartglass. Looks great and is well protected, I almost hate to take it outside now!

Not much to see really. Ignore the cluttered garage, I need to get it out in the sun for some good pics. Might have to wait for spring for that.

Today I assembled and checked the fit for a ski rack I got online the other day.

    20211203_180741.jpg

And while I was pretty impressed with how the stock tires did in the first couple of snow storms, tonight we've got rain and a big temperature swing back below freezing so figured it was time to throw on the winter tires. I have them mounted on steel wheels and I forgot to get hub caps or at least center caps. Anyone have recommendations?

What sort of steel rims? Does the hub opening have a raised lip, or is it a one-size-fits-all generic rim with oversized hub opening?

FWIW, 15" Corolla steel rims have a raised lip, snug fit hub opening, can use a 2" diameter ABS end cap (plumbing department, at hardware stores). They have an ID of 2.375". With the Corolla rims, if you push on some sort of rubber band (cut section of bicycle inner tube works), then tap on the cap, it'll stay on, and looks sort of presentable.

I purchased these from tirerack. They seem pretty generic and there isn't much info on the listing. It appears to be a one size fits all opening.

Here's a photo of the wheel on my car (NYS DOT really loves turning all state highways into salt mines in the winter) Screenshot_20211207-185812_Motion photo viewer.jpg

If you want the caps to make the wheels look nicer and also want to make sure they fit your wheels
and you haven't found any customized solutions you like from the forums yet

I'm not sure; it looks to have a flange around the hub opening:

    upload_2021-12-7_17-52-53.png

Measure the out-to-out of that flange, if it's just a shade under 2.375", it could be the Corolla rim, or equal, and the 2" (nom) ABS end cap trick will work. Again, you need to first push some sort of rubber band over first, to fill the gap, then push the cap on. Here's how they look, with Corolla rims on mine:

I need some classier lug nuts though...

Great suggestion and I may look into it.

I also might want to be a little vain and find a knockoff Ferrari hubcap set just for laughs.

Guys I just added this to the rear of my '20 Mazda MX-5 (its an LED strip that attaches to the top of the trunk wired into parking lights): They are red because well, the car is red.

Strip at the top (it was still somewhat daylight):

    ledstrip.jpg

Fully dark out ( I didnt block out my plate for you guys that was for another forum where there's some questionable characters)

Does anyone make anything somewhat similar for the Prime? Could even be more subtle, just wondering. Mine come on when the parking lights are turned on. It's basically the LED red light connecting both tail lights. Considering how big the rear liftback is, I think there's enough room for something. Just wondering.

    Got some things installed yesterday.

Not sure how I feel about the body side molding. It is the Wind Chill Pearl molding and it does have some black for a contrasting look (coincidentally started a thread about that a few weeks ago when still deciding whether I should get the black body side molding to contrast the color of the car).

Also got door edge guards and illuminated door sill protectors installed. The dealership installed the stick-on accessories free. Only had to pay for install of the illuminated sills. I installed the roof rack crossbars myself in 15 minutes.

I've got OEM Prius Prime mudguards on the way from the UK and will be installing window visors and a rear-bumper protector once it starts to warm up outside.

It's one of the accessories I know I don't want, but that bit of black does help the look on the Pearl. Now that they're on I imagine the look will start to grow on you more. ;-)
