Most Obscure Prime Facts (Way Out There)

I've not seen building outlines at 150' resolution. But then again, maybe the 2017 model can't display this.

I zoomed into downtown Chicago at 150' and it does look like there are outlines of either properties or buildings there, and in different colors. Hard to say which, since the quality of data is somewhat suspect in the Denso nav. and especially since that data is 5 or more years old now in my 2017. I would much more trust Google Maps than whatever Toyota uses.

 

I’m looking for a way to temporarily lock out all the window controls so that my dogs can’t open a window and jump out if I’ve set my 23 Prius in dog mode (locked, but running for AC.

 

How ever you figure out how to set the car to do what you want make sure to test it before you rely on it with your dogs alone in the car.
My first test would be to have another person sit in the car while you set the Prius in the mode you want with engine on and A/C running. Than exit the car and use your safety old fashioned metal key in the fob ( if your gen 5 still has one ) and lock the doors from the outside using the metal key. Have the person inside your locked car try to open the windows and unlock the car from the inside. If that works make sure you test for how long your Prius will stay on without automatically shutting off.

 

Does the Toyota App warns you if the inside of the car gets too hot? If not, I wouldn't leave a dog inside. For my Model 3, I don't trust that my phone will be good enough to warn me if the system fails, so I made an app that runs on my Garmin watch that monitors the car's communication with my phone. If the inside temperature gets above 25C, or if the SoC gets below 25%, or if somehow the Dog Mode gets deactivated, or if the last data received by the car is over two minutes old, the watch will relentlessly vibrate/emit an alarm sound to grab my attention (harder to miss than a notification sent to phone in a pocket/purse). And it's only for a short errand that I can get back to the car in minutes.

But, to answer your question, see if someone has created windows control covers that you can 3D print. Someone did that for the Model 3/Y and I cover the front row buttons as for some stupid reason, when you lock out the windows control in Dog Mode, it's only for the rear seat.
