Hi. I kind of live in my 05 Prius and carry a lot of weight with hitch box. So the tires are very low since it's a OEM shock. I struck a rock and then I hear something pop while gassing my car but now my car won't run faster than 45mph. There's no error lights. Engine revs good. All electrical components are perfect. Is there something under the car that can cause it to grind and run slow? Or is it the Transmission? I want to make sure.

 

I could not think of anything else besides transmission but I'm delusional and hoping for a cheap fix. Maybe some kind of rod connection but Prius is a front wheel drive. It's so low on the rear due to the weight I carry that I believe the rear tire touches the roof which adds more stress to the transmission. There's nothing to look under it no leaks. Just that it won't go faster than 45mph

 

Now I'm hoping that's the case. But I have no issue driving up to 45mph after that it's dragging like it's stuck. I hope that's the case. I'm gonna look tomorrow when I start it

 

At the moment I'm looking for strong rear shocks so my test e tires aren't super low. There's nothing around. Ahhh life's struggles
