In search of the best place to get the best price for a new cat. California legal only and not magnaflow they are overpriced. Let me know where and how much please.
There has to be a better answer than that. Someone has to know a website that has the lowest priced cat for sale. Thanks in advance!
I'm sure your web browser or search engine works just as well as everyone else's. I just thought you'd get a kick out of the plasma thing..
@Mendel Leisk Yes MagnaFlo is only one allowed for aftermarket in Cali. I was hoping some drivers that changed theirs already would respond but if anyone else knows of other ways to clear a P0420 That would be helpful and thanks in advance. http://www.RedBullet.net https://ProjectLithium.com/?ref=mG0GE http://www.Pulstar.com http://www.PlugOutPower.com Use code 7373 http://www.hybridpit.com Use code azusa
Not sure, it is cracked so I think I would rather put a new one. Maybe of those magic cans can clean it just enough to pass smog if needed, there is also two other options I have. I can go the other route and get a non OEM cat and go to a certain smog station for as long as I own it but if I want to sell the car I rather have an OEM cat so it will sell easier. Might be able to get $500-1200 off the price of OEM through the BAR program too so that will help.
Is it currently funded, as CAP funds can dry up early in the fiscal year. Please keep us informed, including if the income requirements apply.
I went with the aftermarket MagnaFlow California legal cat. http://www.RedBullet.net https://ProjectLithium.com/?ref=mG0GE http://www.Pulstar.com http://www.PlugOutPower.com Use code 7373 http://www.hybridpit.com Use code azusa
How long did your OEM catalytic converter last? I am planning to install a cat shield so just wonder what fasteners to use. If the OEM cat lasts really long, I probably will use rivets / one-way screws. If replacement is expected before long, then I will go with keyed security screws.
I would say they last 10 years or 200,000 miles. That also depends how the car was taken care of too.
I just bumped into this today it is a universal I have no idea if it fits, BUT it looks like a cheap CalCAT! Advance Auto Parts - Down for Maintenance REVVL V+ 5G ?
It is, but sadly not for the Prius at least as far as I can tell doing some digging just now. (Saw the ARB document listing all the vehicles it is CA legal for, it seems only pre-OBDII models). My apologies for throwing out a red herring. I found this as the next cheapest possibility until I find out otherwise: https://www.magnaflow.com/products/5671306-catalytic-converter-magnaflow-california-grade-carb-compliant-universal-catalytic-converter REVVL V+ 5G ?
