I received the Prolong system last week. Finally installed it. It wasn't difficult to do, a little trickly.
Remove the bottom rear seat cushion though. So if (when) you drop one of the nuts or fasteners
you can retrieve them without having to remove everything you've put on top of the seat backs!
I started the cycles Saturday afternoon and it's completed one charge/discharge cycle and its now charging.
The first charge photo is when I first started the charge. Then the finished charge.
Then the start of the discharge, then completed discharge. And start of 2nd charge.

I installed the wiring harness on July 27. The front bus bars were very clean. Just a little
green stuff on the positive and negative connectors, the ones for total voltage. and it was
only on the washers. I had to take them off anyway to install the cables so I clean them.
But I didn't clean the rest of them. I really didn't have the extra time, and didn't want to chance
    damaging the wiring.
The rear bus connectors were more corroided, but again, only on the outside. I did remove them and
cleaned with baking soda and water. Again, it was more on the outside. The connection between the
plates and terminals of the battery were clean and clear. And since there are no wires, except for the one
in the more or less center, there was less chance of damaging anything.
The one thing I didn't do that I wished I had, was measure each unit. I had a brain fart and just forgot!
I was not happy, as I rememberd AFTER I have put it back together.
When you remove the essembly cover, there is the vent/drain on the drivers side. Prolong didn't mention it
in there instruction, and I don't remember anyone mentioning it when they remove the battery, or how to get
    it back together.
On the front left, there is a tiny opening. IF you can get to it, you can seperate the black hose from the white.
I couldn't. So I removed the hose where it goes into the body. Then I was able to seperate it with the cover off.
There is a bracket that holds the hoses in place on the battery, then you route the black rubber hose through the
metal cover and semi align them while you place the metal cover over the battery. It's tricky, but not difficult.
I used silicone spray on the hoses to easily connect them after you have the metal cover on.
I was going slowly, making sure I didn't damage anything or miss anything. It took me about
3 hours from start to finish, maybe a little more, I wasn't really watching the clock.

And I cleaned the fan and all the fan ducts while I was in there. The was only a thin layer of dust/dirt on it, as
did the ducts. I used cue tips and water to clean the fan blades and washed the ducts in the sink.
The top of the batteries only had minor dust/dirt on them. Easily brushed away.
The extra layer of filter I added to the vent cover must be doing it's job because there was NO dog fur at all
throughout the fan or duct work.

Bought Sandberg bluetooth audio link for music streaming. It was working great when we tested. Testing was done with my son’s phone and later when i did some test driving (aux was selected but no phone connected) i noticed horrible ground loop noise. Just horrible. Told my son that we need isolator and ordered one (Besign ground loop isolator from amazon, good reviews). It just arrived but when i put it on bass was completely(!) missing. Sound quality rediculous. First thought i somehow broke something but no, without the isolator sounds are perfect. In fact, also the ground loop noise missing when i tested with my phone connected (earlier i tested with my phone not connected).

My son never complained about any ground loop noise so this was just me keeping myself busy for nothing (and wasting money). Anyways, i installed bluetooth audio link

    Finally got around to...

    EGR pipe cleaning
    Transaxle fluid change
    Coolant change
    Intake manifold cleaning
    Throttle body cleaning

She drives like a dream only sitting at 122k miles. I'm still astounded at Toyotas transaxle filled for life talk... That fluid was brown when I drained it...

I completed the reconditioning of my hybrid battery Tuesday evening.
It sat at 233 volts for 6 hours. I disconnected the charger and it sat for 1.5 hours.
I started it, and all the lights lite! I was semi expecting that. I turned it off, started again, no lights.
For about 5 seconds. Then the Check Hybrid Battery displayed and the yellow triangle lite.
P084A code. Hybrid fan control. I disconnected the 12v battery for 10 minutes, but the code came back.
Cleared with Techstream, it still came back.

Of course the Prolong store was closed. But the heat and mosquitoes were active.
I phoned and left a message then sent them an email.

I did check the 12v battery, and it was 12.54v. So I put the charger on it at 2.5 amps overnight.
After 8 hours of charging, it was 12.9v. I waited 30 minutes and checked the battery again.
It was 12.8 volts. I reconnected it, and pressed the brake pedal, and the button. Check Hybrid once again.
I took a break, thought about it and figured it was working before the reconditioning.
So I disconnected the Prolong harness and plugged the fan back in.

I started the car, NO LIGHTS! So obviously there was something wrong with the harness that failed during or
    after the reconditioning.

I drove it around the block to make sure it was good to go.

I was going to send an email to Prolong, but they had already replied and said it sounds like the harness
control box was at fault and will make one up and send it to me.

I have noticed that the charge/discharge cylcle is longer. It no longer jumps from sitting at 2 bars for a while
then to 3 then 4 fairly quickly. It is back to the smooth cycle when I first got it.
I can run in the EV mode longer, and can drive 44mph after decelerating to 44.
And I have gained the 4mpg I was losing.

Over all I would say it has done what it was designed to do with MY hybrid battery.
My Prius was put into service on July 24th, 2009, so for a 12 year old battery with over 244,000 miles on it,
it's pretty good! And $1000 less than a new cells!

I think the battery was just starting to go out of balance and some cells were
getting weak I probably caught it in time to save it.
Only time will tell how often I will have to do the reconditioning. Hopefully only once a year.

We are at 124k on the odometer, cleaned the intake manifold, changed PCV valve, cleaned EGR pipe.

EGR cooler will be swapped for one currently being cleaned out. Will change coolant (engine/inverter), engine coolant pump, and thermostat and housing. Will keep the coolant pump as a spare. Will also replace the spark plugs, since the wipers and cowling will be removed to access the EGR cooler.

Will lube the front/back brake caliper slide pins in phase 3 of planned maintenance. Still considering doing brake fluid bleeding.

At some point, going to clean the HV cooling fan.

No unfortunately. Getting it off has been so frustrating. I bought some box wrenches and am hoping to take it again soon here.

The cooler and intake are the most important parts.
Don't stress over it. Take your time and take one part at a time.
Once you get it off, you'll realize it wasn't as bad as everyone if making it out to me.

Took off my original 17s for 2020 Corolla XSE wheels! Specs are 18x8 +40 F and 18x8 +35 rear (5mm spacer) no rubbing even with extra weight in the rear deck. Tire is 225/40 18 yoko avid.

overall I was initially concerned with caliper clearance because I had seen that thrown around on the forum, but there is a Gen 4 ive seen around LA with these wheels and so I thought it’d work. Plenty of clearance. So far on my commutes (only have done a couple since) I have lost around 1.5-2mpg. I was running 225/ 45 17 on the stocks.

    Celica wheels?

I finally got tires mounted on old school Subaru Imprezza WRX rims today. The 16 x 6.5 inch Subaru wheels weigh 16.7 lbs on the bathroom scale. Not bad, the OEM 15 x 6 Prius wheels are 15.7 lbs on the bathroom scale. 20210820_115337.jpeg
