If you search for the part number of the Prius V EGR Cooler, you will find that it was also used in one Lexus model. I assume Identical powertrain.

That why I post on here.... the v and hatchback have identical motors but the transmission is different. V has water cooled trani and different gears....

AFAK Prius v does have different gear ratios, but: the drain bolt for the inverter coolant circuit on the regular Prius is on the bottom of the transaxle.

I think the same transaxle casting is used for the liftback and the v, but the v adds a water jacket no. 3 cover over the passages colored lavender here, and adds a couple hoses to circulate the water there as well as in the green area. The liftback leaves off the water jacket no. 3 cover, so those passages are just exposed on the front of the transaxle and unused, and only the green area transfers transaxle heat to the coolant.

Inside the case, it's the oil that circulates over everything and carries heat away to the aluminum casting, which is cooled both by passing air and by the coolant in the water passage(s).

I wonder how things turned out? I had to replace my head gasket myself, but after much pre-igniting and misfiring. You certainly know when coolant is pooling in cylinder combustion chambers when stopped. Until you get misfiring, I would hope it is a slight leak in the coolant system hoses etc. The dealer leak-down tested mine and still found no signs of cause, so the only reliable evidence is the misfiring. Until then stick your fingers in your ears, and hope for the best. But please check your hoses. and check for white smoke in tailpipe. But that would only be when catastrophic. Going to hear crazy misfire before that.

A borescope inspection can detect either the coolant (just drops if they keep it overnight and then pull the plugs) or a borescope can detect a steam cleaned cylinder.
