Perfectly level reference points in Gen 2

    Does anyone know a part or parts on a Gen2 that are level when the ground is level.

    I’ve googled and searched every way I know how and I can’t find an answer.

    Thanks for any tips.

    I used a spirit level to establish that the front door sills were level when on level ground. This assumes that the suspension on the front and rear are within spec.

    I assume there's a back-story to the question, like maybe wanting to do the yaw and acceleration sensor calibration and make sure zero is really zero? Or for adjusting the headlights?

    I think I did end up using the door sills on mine, and something like the rear floor deck for the other axis (not so important for headlights, but matters for yaw sensor).

    There is also the Repair Manual for Collision Damage (more info), which includes drawing that call out specific points on the underbody and critical measurements, and it's possible to find a couple different vertical reference points and find the height difference between them, and use that to determine when the car is level.

    ... assuming a level surface beneath (or using a water-hose level as a reference).

    I changed the transaxle fluid with the front of my car on ramps in my slanted driveway. I got the door sills level (had to put 40 psi in front tires and lower rear tires to 8 psi lol) and the ATF fill went as expected. It was the reference point I needed.

    Not necessary. Just Jack the front of the car up dump the fluid and put in 4 quarts. Done this 3 times over 14 years.
