    Hello all,

Just bought a 2009 Prius yesterday and have been over the moon driving it. I encountered a bit of a snag; both key FOBs will not lock or unlock the vehicle, and no LED light switches on when I attempt to press either key FOB. I am thinking this may be a battery issue with the FOBs, but it seems odd that neither are working? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    congrats!
    just to clarify:

    1) the keys did or did not work when you got it?

    2) the keys start the car with, or without inserting into the dash?

    3) if you have to insert into dash, the previous owner was probably just lazy, and yes, you need new batteries, cheap and easy.

Yep! If the LED on the fob doesn't come on when you press a button, then the first thing to try is replacing the battery.

Got it! Yes, the FOBs work in the car just fine. Will get the button batteries tomorrow and see if that solves the issue! Many thanks.
