I didn't. Original battery and when the time comes to replace it, I will do it myself. Weren't you looking to replace your battery 6 months ago?

There are plenty of reports of people using Toyota. You just need to search through the (Gen 2) forums to find their threads.

'a new Toyota hybrid battery that is installed by the dealer'= has a 3 year warranty, the 3 year warranty, is to encourage you to have it installed at the dealer

Did it a few weeks ago at my Lincolnwood dealer, near Chicago. Things went well, took an extra half day for some unknown reason (guessing they didn't order the part until I gave them the keys to my car). Included a nice new rental car. And a car wash. $1700 for genuine Toyota battery plus $445 for all labor, taxes and fees. Love having Toyota's three year, nationwide warranty--rather than worry about the cranky seller in Colorado.

So you invested=$2145.00,for a Brand New ''INSTALLED'' Toyota Prius Hybrid battery
With proper maintenance ,your Prius should go at least 10 more years

Had my local Stealership offered that option I'd have jumped on it. Their guesstimate was more than double that.
Combine it with their quote to replace the 12 volt starter battery in a friends Gen 4 for $903, and I'm done with them.
    I love Toyotas, and currently own a 2015 Gen 3, a 2012 V and a 2008 Gen 2. My next new car will be a Mazda
or Honda, for no better reason that the greed of the "Service" department at the Toyota dealer.

sounds like you have only one Toyota dealer to pick from. In major markets the competition keeps them more honest.

I've done HV batteries both ways, self-performed and dealer installed. I installed a rebuilt battery. That installation went without issue it was the rebuilt HV battery that was defective out of the crate. The dealership installed a new HV battery after that. Zero issues with that battery, shocking I know.

I'm still considering the DEALER INSTALLED BATTERY Option when the day comes...

For now my 2008 Prius is still running strong on it original hybrid battery
