I have a 2014 Prius V with a backup cam that does not have the guide lines. I'm looking to swap it out for one with the guidelines. Hoping to also get a clearer picture, since this camera is old. I see the PYVideo option but since my car already has a backup camera I was wondering if there was a simple drop in replacement. I looked up the camera part number 86790-47040 and the connector seems proprietary to Toyota.
I have a 2013 Prius V two that I updated the "Multi-Funtional Display" unit from a 57010, to 57011, so I could get Navigation. I have learned a bit about these displays. I could be wrong, but I strongly believe that those lines you are talking about are part of the MFD itself. Swapping the camera probably won't do anything. it is possible to upgrade from your 5701x MFD in your 2014 Prius V to a 51005x unit from a Prius V 2015 or 2016. The 2017 MFDs are very different, and probably can't be put in any other Prius (at least the 510165 unit in my 2017 Pirus V four is so different that I would not consider trying to shoehorn it into a 2014). If I am correct, Upgrading your MFD will give you the parking lines in your backup camera. It won't be cheap, and there is a lot of work involved. mostly, several connectors were changed, so some splicing or custom adapters are needed. However, the 51005x series of MFDs are superior in so many ways, it is worth considering even without "parking lines". The following thread describes in great detail how to upgrade a 2012 - 14 Prius V to use a unit from a 2015 - 16 Prius V that you acquire from eBay or a junkyard. NOTE: units from a normal Prius will not fit in a Prius V, and vice-versa. The thread was authored by user named Kepik. Anyone who has done the conversion would be able to verify if the "parking lines" appear after the upgrade. Retrofit Facelift Model (2015+) Head Unit to Pre-Facelift Model (2012 - 2014)
