What kinda work are you looking to get done? I'm originally from the Northeastern PA area and there is a good shop in Dallas my folks use from time to time: Home CADDIE LABAR'S DISTRIBUTING CO Dallas, PA (570) 675-1181 Woody is a good mechanic and even better person . But @FantasticalMagicOne may have a better recommendation .
The engine light came on. Back in cali they said it had something to do with the battery temperature sensor. I had the spark plugs changed and the light came on only after that. Before that, my check engine light hadn’t come on. First they said the light was due to the O2 sensor and I had that changed. Light came on again the day I picked up the car from the mechanic. Took it back and they said it was now this temperature sensor or a new computer. Unfortunately, I had to move before the mechanic could figure it out.
He's more of an old school mechanic. But he may have the juice. At least we know what some of the issues are.
If you can get a word in edge-wise. He was gifted the gift of gab. Put him with my old man and you have yourself a long day at the shop without accomplishing by much.
What’s this egr circuit? Do I have to have that done? Ugh.. my prius was doing just fine before taking it to the mechanic .
how many miles on her? the egr is 'exhaust gas recirculation' valve, for pollution reduction. the circuit is the whole assembly, including the intake manifold. but that is down the road. concentrate on the lights and trouble codes for now. are there any symptoms?
2011 118k I really don’t feel any issues. The only thing I noticed is the mpg went down slightly after the spark plug and air filter change.
. @SCalpri , is the engine coolant level stable? Do you have the original list of codes the prior mechanic pulled? Good luck and keep us posted.
