    North American content is something that is VERY difficult to accurately quantify....even with Tesla.

    How much is it REALLY?
    If the battery is assembled in a US based plant from Chinese plastics, polymers, and metals is it a Chinese or American component?

    Hybrid subsidies were tiny and short-lived, 50k vehicles. You got $3150 tax credit for a Prius, but that was severely reduced for many buyers due to unintended strict income limits ( the rebate itself caused the Alternative Minimum Tax to kick for many middle income tax payers). So for Cash-4-Clunkers they got rid of the AMT problem.
