Hi! I have a new blue Toyota 2021 Prius Prime, noticed something odd this evening. While it was charging, I was making some preference adjustments and noticed with the lights on that the drivers door Lock switch didnt illuminate but the passenger side does. Why wouldn't the drivers door switch light. Am I missing something?
There have been comments about that on other threads around here. It seems that Toyota decided to remove those lights on the 2021 for some goofy reason.
Huh. Pretty sure the 2018 didn't have them. It used to drive me crazy that I had to turn on the dome light to find the unlock button all the time. Is it connected to the trim level?
How does omitting a 5 cent led increase profits? That would have saved them about $2,000 for the entire United States in model year 2020. Toyota's 2020 revenue was $275 billion. $2,000 to Toyota is as 0.04 cents is to someone earning $50,000 a year. Just having a meeting to decide on removing the light would cost more than they recover.
No, the driver side door lock switch does not illuminate. I took my car into the dealership and even they were confused. They had to confirm this was the case by looking at the brand new primes on their lot.
