    Thanks, @john1701a. I don't know where I got the 23% notion.

This is what I managed to achieve on my last HV+EV trip in EV Auto the other day. Better than 54 and better than any Prius could ever do. I love me 30mi at "infinite" MPG. :)

And this is my "lifetime" data so far, as per 4th (4th!) gas fuel-up in 3 months over 2700mi.

My current "lifetime" (since 22 April ;) ) on my brand new Prime is currently 1369km and 1.0 litres/100km [or about 235 MPG for a US gallon] (per the instrument cluster--fully acknowledging all the caveats and limitations thereof).

My current "lifetime" (since August 2013) on my 2013 Nissan X-Terra is 189,547km and 15.8 litres/100km (approximately 70% autoroute/interstate driving). Until April, it was my primary commuting vehicle. Now, it's the third "car" used almost entirely by my daughter to putter around locally (I pay for the fuel--don't want her to go bankrupt BEFORE starting university ;) ). It will go from 32000-35000km/yr down to about 5000. So a doubly good decline in emissions (if I sold it, it would likely travel 12000-15000km/yr, if not more, as someone's primary vehicle). And with my weekly commute this fall to go from 3x320km per week to 5x320km per week, and gasoline going from 1.20$/litre pre-pandemic to the 1.36$/litre I saw today--I'm VERY HAPPY I'll be commuting in the Prime. Even in the depth of winter, on sticky winter tires, I'll be WAY AHEAD (sticky winter tires and winter cold make my X-Terra consume 19 litres/100km, on average, so even if I'm up to 5 litres/100 on the Prius...).

You have a daily commute of 160km one way per day? Is it not cheaper/environmentally friendly to move closer to work? (Assuming your job allows to live close to where you work)

If I lived alone I’d probably move, though to keep my two positions (necessary for a full teaching load), it would probably shave fewer than 40km from the commute. But it’s rarely a daily commute (usually 2-3 times a week, more often 2–this fall semester will be an exception); my wife’s work and my children’s schooling make a move impossible at this time (her job pays WAAAYYY more than mine); I work for two different colleges and they are equally far (though in different directions) from my house (which is roughly centrally located between the campuses, as best as it can to keep everyone else close to their jobs/schools).

Plus I find my commute is great for “quiet time” (though every day might seem too much of a good thing—it’s only for 15 weeks though).

Sounds like about the best location compromise, @Ovation.

Good mileage, considering the conditions. I'm sure that'll drop in the winter but still nice. ;) I just looked and mine is 149 mpg over the past 2-1/4 years and about 25k miles. But that includes a 6,000+ mile road trip in 2019. Normal around town driving is over 90% EV.

My guess is RAV4 Prime range but with a smaller battery (smaller, lighter car vs. SUV). Not sure if they'll continue with the 1.8 litre or drop to a 1.5 litre from the Yaris (or the new 1.3 litre) to save money and keep the current 1.8 litre engine for the base hybrid version.

One thing, all these displayed values are very likely inflated; Toyota can’t resist BS’ing, about as much as they can get away with.

great numbers, but you want to knock 5~10% off.

Not likely in California. I live about 50 miles from my work location because a similar property within 10 miles of work costs around $3.5 million. With property taxes and insurance that would be over $15,000 per month. The property taxes alone would be almost double my current mortgage. Then there's the schools in that area. I wouldn't send my kids to those schools for any amount of money, so I'd have to pony up for private school, which would be about another $4,500 per month for two kids.

That would put me at 1.05-1.1 litres/100km. I’ll take it. (y)

I make it 3.1. My trick:

    235.2/82.5*1.075

first function converts, second for Toyo average fudge factor.

    and yeah, still excellent.

Ah. I was applying the 5-10% “fudge factor” to my current lifetime average display of 1 litre/100km. That’s how I got my numbers. Since I got it about 5 weeks ago, I’ve done nearly 80% of my 1300km in EV only mode. That will change soon enough when I resume my regular commuting schedule in the fall (and the couple of road trips planned for July). But for now, I’ll enjoy the extreme fuel economy.

Just realized the 82.5 mpg I ran through a conversion was from OP, not yours. Sorry, got muddled.

Anyway, dividing into 235.2 is a good trick; do that with EITHER mpg (US) or liters per 100 km, and it converts to the other. It’s just the conversion factors involved, distilled down to simplest format.

At 1640km, my lifetime is now 0.8 (or 294 MPG US). Can I get it to 0.7 before the mid-July road trip we have planned?

I agree, the mpg is stunning. I'm 33 days into ownership. 900 miles and I still got full factory tank. 92% ev driving. Just amazing.

I have a 85 mile round trip work commute that I admittedly only have drove a handful of days in the last month. But I get pretty much 65 of the 85 miles on ev. I'm just super impressed by that...much better than expected

Why'd you block out your license plate in your photos? Don't you know everybody can see your license plate everywhere you drive anyway? And what can they do with your plate number after all?

Well I guess it is his license plate, he can personally do whatever he wants to.
Google decides not to show the license plate on google map so there must be a reason for doing that.
