    HI All,

This is my first post here (at least in a long time). I just got my New (to me) 2018 Prius Four :) (less than 25K miles) last Saturday (29th)!!! I was so excited to get it; I traded my 2005 Prius and my 2011 F150 for it (two for one!) and they are going to replace the Windshield too (not my cost). So.. I finish the deal about 12:30 pm and we came home. I am checking out my car for a bit. and then we run some errands later (I am driving!!!). My sister then says to me you have a 'CHECK ENGINE' lignt on :(. So, we turn around and go home. I call the dealer and he has me send a picture. He calls back and says it could be as simple as the gas cap or it could be something else.... It is not the gas cap...tried several times - tightening it and starting the car and the CHECK ENGINE light still came on. So, I tell him all this and say I am not sure about driving it; So, he brings me a loaner car and take my car back to the dealer to have it fixed. Hopefully, I will hear back today. I did get the Platinum Protection plan, but I hadn't expected to use it on the first day! On another note, I have order a spare tire and foam parts (thanks to the post about 'undeleting the tire kit...'). Oh,, and btw,, the loaner car they gave me a 'small' SUV (HUGE to me).... Mercedes Benz.

    I'll keep you posted

    Thanks

Well... It turned out to be a simple fix. When they power washed the engine, they 'knocked a value loose'; so all they had to do is tighten the value. They are bringing my car back to me!!!!!!!!!

Awaiting moderation means that until the system knows you're not a spam bot, each post has to be approved by a human moderator. We about got strangled by bots a couple years ago. Couldn't wade through all the spam posts to find the legit ones. It think it's either 4 or 5 posts before the appear without moderation.

"Knocked a value loose?" I wonder what that is. Did they mean a valve? I wonder what valve got knocked loose. Anyway, glad it was just a good on their part and not a serious problem. You're gonna love that new car. (y)(y)
