And 80%+ of them CUV, SUV, truck or minivan? That’s my sense ‘round here, the transformation is a fait accompli.

He might have issues saying no;).

I'm on new car buying probation by my CFO for another couple of years so if I get the same, I'd take a test drive:).

Interior is much better than the Gen3 / Gen 1 PIP anyway (y).

Never is a big word, but applies to my case as well;).

Unless Toyota comes up with a BEV Taco, the Rivian is my next move(y).

agreed. bev will hopefully be my next vehicle, if i live long enough.

for now, the pip is still close to perfect for my needs, even though the shade is closer to blue than night.

but after the black camry, that will never happen again. they are as hot as advertised.

I had a black Jaguar that I learned the same lesson on;).

I favor the blue side of the equation as well:).

    Distinctive and distinguishing (y).

The only way I'll own a gasser is if it's a weekend or fun car that won't see much kilometrage.

Something like a MX-5 6MT or GR86 6MT or a Cayman or LC500 (LC500h are nearly impossible to find on the used car market)

The LC500h would be a very fun weekend car:).

A bit pricey, but I'm sure with the compensation you receive for your efforts here, it is within reach;).

A Dodge Demon would also be pricey and enjoyable(y).

Must have given her a good deal:).

I've mentioned my mother In-laws old 1990 Miata here before: at 375k miles and 18 years old, was sold for $1500 and no test drive;).

It does have a cult following(y).

it was interesting. i thought that mileage would be worth a lot, but the difference between 25 and 100k wasn't much. more based on years than anything

Given the environmental differences between our two locales, how much rust did your Miata have on it:whistle:?

Not a spot of rust on hers out here and it came with the hard top:).

Apparently that is desirable, even with lack of head room for taller folks(y).

mine was a garage queen, not even registered from nov.1 thru may 1. car cover and everything, no dings, dents (or cracked bumper )

i never used the top, so i removed it to keep it perfect with no folds or cracks from being compressed all the time. made more room in the back too.

early miata's remind me of early pri, purpose built and rock solid. 375kis nothing to sneeze at! i wonder if mine is still on the road somewhere, 30th birthday last month...

Hers was a daily commuter and it showed its age: paint fade, rock chip dings on the front, loose heat shield from the wonderful roads out here, etc.

Didn't deter the buyer though ;).

He said he would get the Miata to 500k miles and sent her a pic several years later of the odometer at the milestone:).

Deathtrap for a commuter due to size, but Mazda did a great job with building it(y).
