2009 Gen 2: tire inflation light won’t go out

    I added air in my tires and the dealer reset the tire inflation light but it still stays on. Does anyone know if this is a big deal to troubleshoot and fix?

    Start with reading the codes and looking at the TPMS live data. Hopefully, with this information, it will be clear where the problem lies.

    I should have mentioned, I’m not a DIY person so someone else will be troubleshooting. Just wondering if this could be an expensive repair.

    Depends on what is wrong. I'm leaning towards one or more of the TPMS sensor batteries that has/have gone flat.

    They are expensive for what they are, but it would be cheaper if you change the sensor(s) when you next change your tires.

    Reading the codes will let you know for sure.

    I’ll find out tomorrow if I need new tires. Why would it be cheaper to change the sensors at that time? Because of the location of the sensors?

    Yes, the tires need to be deflated and moved out the way to replace the sensors, so it is no extra labor to do it when you change to new tires.

    To be clear, you do not need to change your tires if there is still good tread left. Just wait until they are worn out and then put new sensors and tires at the same time.
