it's not too late, but we need new leadership. send dr. fauci back to the lab to do what he does best, and find a mouthpiece that can create and communicate clear guidelines and the reasons for them.

we have the same problem here with governor numbnuts, keeps coming out with new requirements, but never elaborates on the reasons, or the science behind them. his standard answer to the media is 'that's the science'
he also loves the limelight, and won't let anyone with any real knowledge say anything.

Apparently Massachusetts didn't have a summer wave, but the country as a whole certainly did:

Masks are good, but like any tool you have to use them properly.
Walking outside by yourself with a mask on is silly.
Wearing a mask when indoors at the grocery store makes sense.
Wearing a mask inside your car (alone or with only your household) looks foolish, to me.
People seem to wear a mask, many times, as virtue signaling, maybe because they want it to be political.

When I do shop, I try to combine several trips. I generally put the mask on when I get to the first stop, then keep it on until I get home, rather than handling the mask in between stops. So I might look foolish in the car on those intermediate legs of the trip. But then, some people worry about looking foolish more than I do.

Massachusetts did not have a 2020 summer peak, nor did any other northeastern state. It was a national pattern because it happened pretty much everywhere else. As such, it is difficult to conclude that high summer T did the preventing.

    Y'all aren't that hot.

Had I not looked at other NE states in worldometers, my post would have been completely ninja-ed by @fuzzy1 . As they say on the internet.

It's tough to make predictions, especially about the future.

    Hmm, new term for me.

Fortunately for you, I have too much field work going on to have time to pull that subterfuge. At least this week, on farm and calving shift again.

common sense would have saved a lot of misery over the past year...

perhaps it is uncommon sense these days

Yeah, but it is increasingly difficult to find what is "common" among us... sigh

    Meaning among ALL of us.
Part of the problem that we face as a society is the siloing of infotainment.

It's remarkably EASY to find commonality........with about 50 percent of your fellow humans but if you try to cross the streams......
