Prius Prime - official prices paid thread

Strong arm tactics. They figure if you want the car you'll just give in. Well, in my case I'll just go somewhere else that has a better price. They are only off $300 and the other car has the cargo liner that I want, it's just in Titanium instead of Blue, which I know you were set on. The other thing is I saw the quote you posted from them and it's basically the price I'm asking for, so I know they will do it, or at least they finally did for you.

I'm waiting to hear back from Koons Annapolis, who so far haven't been responsive. They had the lowest price on Truecar so I figured I'd give it a try even though they seem to be very "fee happy". They have the blue on black that I (we) are looking for, so I'll let you know how that does.

 

Exactly. The mats played a role for me as well, the mats and slightly lower shipping cost from Maryland to me helped me not worry so much about the uber discount.

 

Perhaps the dealers are betting that Prime sales will get more competitive, as the new/used car markets have been impacted by the chip supply issue. As the Prius Prime was always a slow selling model, it would take longer to be impacted. If inventory is getting sold and resupply isn't guaranteed, prices will flatten or go up even. People who were looking at other cars might finally drift to a Prime with the discounts, driving prices up in the next 1-3 months? (They never realized how great a value Primes offered before)
If 2022 models/inventory are impacted - who knows how long the prices will be this low. Very hard to predict, compared to Jan-Apr this year where Prime prices dropped and rebates increased.

 

true. Which is why i'm rolling the dice now on one. Maybe the deals get better in May but inventory will correct at some point and like you said shortages likely to continue from what I've read and seen though this year on computer chips (of which we know the prius has just a few of those). I'll take April Prime incentives and 4500 fed tax credit for 9500 Alex.

 

Working with Koons Annapolis now, they finally quoted me a price and it's the lowest yet. They sure are slow. Kind of annoying but if it's going to same me some bread I will wait impatiently.

Has anyone else had any interaction with Koons Annapolis?

 

I haven't but it looks like they have a decent amount of inventory (I'm looking for Silver w/ Black). Keep us posted!

 

I spoke to them.. they had a blue with black interior xle on their website last week..but when I called they said it was due to be delivered like may 5th or so and they cost sell it until it was physically there. Seemed like nice salesman though

 

Yes. I got a quote from them in early March. They were responsive. The quote was low, but they tried to double-charge freight (both in MSRP and as a separate freight charge) making the total more than Bill Kidd's. Also, Koons didn't have our first choice of color (silver / moonstone). There are a few other comments around post #4264 if you want to search back.

 

I just purchased my Prius Prime LE in Maryland and after all rebates (toyota cashback + uber) OTD I paid $22,945. With the tax credit it's a bit less than $18.5K which was the the OTD price of a used 2015 Prius I was looking at earlier, so thank you all for sharing your experiences because I would never have otherwise gotten a new car!

Wow, I can't believe you got a dealer discount; I'm shopping right now and the best dealer discount I can find is $500. Can you DM the So Cal dealer. I tried to DM you and I can't (probably because I'm new)

 

29,599 msrp for an le?? Is it loaded with every option?

 

An LE with mat set and edge guards will get you there after destination charge.

I noticed the freight charge tactic. Sneaky. They aren't actually double charging, they are just not including it in the e-price and then adding it in after. There was another dealer that did the same thing, Heritage I believe. Their price was still lower even after factoring in the freight fee, and their other fees were lower as well. They seem to be working with me now but they seem understaffed. They didn't have the blue color I wanted in stock (like eliteconcept said) but he said he could get one from another dealership. I ended up with the titanium since they had it on their lot and he was able to get me a better price on it.

 

how long it takes to sign up uber driver. it has been 2 days. the status is still onboarding

 

Has anyone had experience with trade ins at DARCARS Silver Spring or Heritage Toyota? Any tips on getting the best price? Do they match other quotes?

 

FYI, that post is from January. Things have probably changed a bit since then, especially in So Cal.
