satxprime is from out of state so guessing the CA clean fuel reward does not apply to them.

    Yup.

On a related note, I'm dismayed at how few Prius Primes are available in my market. Probably fewer than 10 (of any trim) within 50 miles of me, maybe twice that in 100 miles. No manufacturer's rebate. I called a few local Toyota dealerships to see if they'd try to compete (I'd have paid a bit more to avoid the hassle of shipping and doing all the legwork) but the best OTD offer I received was a shade under $30k. Does anyone know why some regional distributors are getting the fat rebates and others are not?

State electric vehicle laws. About a dozen states have adopted the Zero Emission Vehicle program - California, Oregon, Colorado (added recently), and most of the northeast. In these states, manufacturers have ZEV credit requirements or face fines of $5000 per credit. My estimate is that a Prius Prime sale in a ZEV state is worth about 0.8 credits or $4000. So the rebate in ZEV state Maryland is $4500 while the rebate in non-ZEV state Pennsylvania is $0.

As for availability, when I was searching, several Maryland dealers had more Prius Primes than the entire state of Oklahoma.

Federalism, ladies and gentleman, let's give them a big hand! They tried their best, bless 'em, etc etc.

That makes sense, though. Even so, I'd think that there would be some innate appeal to PHEV/BEVs given the federal credit. I mean, even absent additional benefits, the Prius Prime - $4502 is pretty much the same cost as a straight up Prius. Plus, you know, it's got the battery thing! I do not understand the car business.

I bought a Prius prime in January for 22,400 OTD in NY. I then sold it to Vroom for 24k with 3200 miles. Carvana now lists it for 27k. This Prius prime market makes no sense.

Best offer so far is 3100 dealer markdown on an XLE in New Engand.
Q: Was told the uber incentive wasn't current and that it couldn't be combined with student discount anyway. Anyone have insight on this?

    Yeah, they're wrong.
    https://www.teamtoyota.net/incentives/md4880/

Uber through 7/6/2021. It is simply a form they need to fill out and you get the $750 off and dealer gets reimbursed by Toyota. Just state that you won't take the deal if they don't provide the incentive that is available nationwide and current.
    Pretty stupid on their part.
They call the student $500 - a rebate and the Uber $750 an incentive. That means that both should be able to be applied on one purchase.
Sometimes you'll see unscrupulous dealers that list every single incentive and rebate that no one could ever qualify for all of them at the same time, but show that as their "discount" to get you to shop there - bait and switch.

    Be firm. Polite, but firm.

Thank you!!! They are texting to come in and talk about it, which is aggravating. Will craft a response back.

joining in the search here. Im from Indiana and they all want MSRP for the little stock they have here and we dont' get the big incentives being offered currently. I'm in talks with several dealers on the east coast right now for an XLE Basil in Buffalo is at 24,274 via their internet price (I offered 23,900 and am waiting to hear back. I have am also trying to work with Jerrys in MD, Bill Kidds in MD, and Darcars in MD. I'm tareting a price point of 24,000 before the 750 uber discount. and before taxes and other fees. If anyone has recently bought an XLE in the maryland area and can share their quotes so I might be able to use them that'd be great.
    Thanks!

I'm working on it too, hoping to nail down a car in the next day or so. Happy to share my research after I get something :). But fyi, I'm seeing around $23K e-price (before tax and fees and Uber dscount) on xle in the MD region.

Is your goal before or after TTL?. Via Truecar Prime Route 2 and Boch Toyota are offering about 3k dealer markdown. So, roughly the 31K MSRP- 3k dealer - 5k Toyota gets you to 23K number before TTL

Thanks. I got the dealers I'm working with to 24100 before the 750 Uber discount. Or 23350 after using the Uber incentive and before TTL and state taxes.

Do true car offers include or exclude toyota incentives like the 4500 current one?

What dealerships are showing 23k for e-pricing? I got darcars to do 24,100 before Uber 750 off. That's the lowest I've been able to get. And that was by matching a Buffalo dealer.

Waiting for a full itemized cost break down from Stan at Bill Kidds in Maryland, but I got them to 23,450 for an blue XLE with all weather mats and door edge guards. That includes the Uber discount I haven't told them about yet. But doesn't include TT&L. I'm estimating OTD of right around 26,400 with my indiana 7% tax. I'm sure if I tried I could have squeezed a few more hundred of savings put from what I've seen but I think this is pretty decent based on others deals.

Going to try to work in a deal for the all weather cargo mat before all said and done since it doesn't look like it has that.

    Well see...

The only explanation I can think of is that national retailers can sell these things in markets like mine that don't have supply to people who don't know how much they can save buying new out of state and don't know about or qualify for the tax credit savings.
