the hvac system is comprised of motorized vent doors to direct airflow. there may be an automatic change when you press a/c, idk. try pushing the vent direction control button and in/out air button to see if there is a similar noise anywhere.
yep i tested when i do outside air and turn bak to recirc it makes noise and when i turn recirc to outside air it makes noise. so its the motorized vent door? and where do it located?
i've never dealt with it. there are a few buried in behind the dash, but iirc, one is availabl to spray lube from the floor vents. the fresh air/recirc may be behind the glove box in the cabin filter area. do some searching, there have been diagrams posted over the years and repair proceedures. in the end, some just put up with it unless it stops working.
