Overnight to get COVID shot

I had a high school friend who was mostly paralyzed in the legs from polio but able to more or less get around on crutches. I was pretty young when the vaccine came out and I got vaccinated, but my mom said later that she & dad had been terrified that one of us kids might get it.

And I've read a few times over the past few years that polio is still out there in some places.

i might have attempted it with coffee this am .. but my modules came in last night .. wouldnt u know ... the cheapest modules were actually the newest(2007)(but i not only had to wait the longest .. had to prod the seller to ship them several times) and the used ones i paid closer to $20per were 2004 vintage... the ID picture says 'only mix with modules 3 months or less in date' -- these modules are going into a pack from 2006. I'll keep my fingers crossed .. though i wouldnt mind if these replacements later failed 1st because they are at the opposite ECU end of the pack .. i didnt play wack- a- mole .. i propped up the end of the pack so i could remove the underside module holding bolts of the adjacent pieces that needed to be removed in order to allow the removal of the bad modules..

 

Day after my 2nd Pfizer shot I had extreme exhaustion.
I am also diabetic, and had a reaction of insulin resistance which basically means I need to double the insulin intake. For me, this is normal when I have a cold.
I slept for 9 hours, and feel great this morning
Sound like my immune system was working overtime learning how to battle COVID-19.

@bisco, The comic was basically an analogy to the previous sentence.
The first Death Star (COVID-19) was a harmless practice run for the rebels (immune system).
This allowed the rebels to learn how to defeat the Death Star at no risk.
When the real Death Star showed up the rebels defeated it quickly since they already had a practice run.

Polio wasn't 'cured' through vaccinations.
Vaccinations don't "cure" diseases.
They make them homeless....
As far as I know....there's still no "cure" for polio.

I think that (absenting martial law) mandating vaccinations is sorta unconstitutional, for people that believe in such things.
If you want to go around licking doorknobs and not being vaccinated, knock yourself out.
I support and will defend your right to do so, presuming no local, constitutional laws are broken.

Vaccines are only one tool.
There are several paths to herd immunity.

I agree. Nevertheless, when I return to Togo this summer, I'll have to once again present my yellow card that proves I've been vaccinated against yellow fever. I expect to also have to produce the card I got when I got my COVID vaccinations. Every trip I've made there (none since COVID), they check your temperature and your yellow card before they even look at your passport.

 

Similar routine to being in the service in the 1970's. You had travel orders and weren't allowed into countries until you presented documentation of all the required vaccines.

 

The sad thing is, many of these skeptics won't have to deal with the consequences themselves.

It should be illegal to provide any form of medical treatment to those who refuse the COVID vaccine as they are a danger to the general population at the hospital .

If they are hell bent to go to hell we shouldn’t stand in their way.

Just reading many of the posts here can can extreme exhaustion as well.
