Hello all. I have a 2012 Prius V wagon with 200k on the clock. I filled up tonight and immediately got the hybrid system warning light, and had no power. Used tech stream and error codes indicated bad ignition on each cylinder. Car is new to me, so no idea on the previous maintenance. I did get a hybrid system error code when I first hooked it up, but it is not presenting now. Think it's just needing a tune up?

Well this did not make it to public, so I will answer my own question. Went and purchased new plugs, cleared the codes and all is well. Pic of old vs new plugs. Error was coming from cylinder 3 primarily according to techstream. Did a highway speeds in power mode test drive for 20 minutes, no issues. When it occurred last night the car went into "limp mode" and had to do 10 mph to drive theb1/2 mile home. Just posting this in case someone else encounters this issue

So you say it is or isn't working properly?
Hard to believe that plugs would cause a hybrid light.

It's always unfortunate to get a thread like this where the actual codes from the car haven't been posted, as they would make the situation clear.

But it is not at all surprising to get the master warning light in consequence of an engine problem. The power management control ECU relies on the engine to be able to supply power to the hybrid system. It can definitely set a code like P0A0F if the engine isn't holding up its end of the bargain, and that will definitely give you the MWL.

It is not working yet. I gave cleaned my MAF and am replacing the ignition coils this morning when they arrive. Hope that does the trick. According to compilation of error codes and my research, that is supposed to fix the issue

There might even be folks here who could help with the research, if we didn't need Carnac the Magnificent to find out what codes you've got.

So I changed out the coil packs. Cleared the codes and test drove it for 2 hours in several different modes and speeds. Worked flawlessly. Cheers

The snowflakes you see in the middle of the screen contain more information on the issues ;).

    Remember that for next time:).

Glad you are back on the road(y).

Having all four of P035{1,2,3,4} certainly can mean that all four of your igniters have gone bad at the same time, though it can also mean (as the IGF circuit is shared by all four) that there is simply some wiring issue affecting that circuit, or affecting the supply common to the coils.

If changing all four coils has made the problems go away, I guess that was a good call this time. If it seems to return at any point, especially if it returns again with all four codes, it might be worthwhile to explore the possible causes outside of the coils themselves.

How could all four go bad at the same time...?

From techstream, it looked like #3 was the primary offender. But, figured that if one went bad, all should be replaced. Besides, I had no idea which one was #3

That was low cost....... I thought it might be in the several hundreds.
Wonder what that would have been if it was original.
    Thanks for the info!

Probably a hair under $340 for parts from a dealer, at discount. So a person planning to use dealer parts would probably put more effort into running down the other possible causes first. $62 replacement sets kind of change the approach!

I always wonder about the quality of those very low cost parts.
Few years ago I bought some fuel injectors for my Mercury Villager on Amazon and 2 went bad in a week. Replace all of them with ones from Orileys and never had a problem.
